Ever After

“So Katie.. Have you ever fallen in love?” Was the host’s question for Katie Mascowitz-Hollywood’s hottest new star.

“Once.” She said with a laugh. “I fell in love once.”

The host followed up: “Who was the lucky guy?” while waggling her eyebrows at the camera.

“I wouldn’t say he was lucky.” She replied with a sigh.

“Ooh, I sense a little dirt.” She said a little to boldly, which made Katie a tad bit uncomfortable. 

Katie looked to her manager slash best friend who just looked at her with an encouraging smile and her thumbs up in motivation. 

“So, what happened between you two?” She asked due to the fact that Katie was being silent.

“Nothing happened.” Katie answered nonchalantly plastering a fake my smile on her face. 

“Oh, come on. I know that there’s more to it than that. Spill.” She said urging Katie to speak.

Katie was silent for a moment before finally letting everything flow out.

“It was junior high,” Katie started.

“And...?” The nosy reporter urged.

 “..we were in different social circles but he was my partner in science class. He was forced to be my partner because the teacher assigned them. He was a really nice guy, a little stubborn, but aren’t they all?” She said before chuckling a bit to herself. 

“Graduation came and I knew for sure that I was in love with him. There was a ball held after graduation and I planned to tell him then.” She continued smiling to herself for a bit before her smile slowly faded. “I came to the ball all dolled up, and ready to finally tell him, I asked around if they knew where he was and they told me he was at the balcony. I made my way there and saw him with another girl talking. I was about to interrupt when suddenly, he lent down and kissed her. I was so taken aback that I just blanked and left. The next day I was off to boarding school, not looking back.” 

“Poor Katie. You must’ve been heart broken.” The host cooed.

“I was, I’m not gonna lie, but that’s okay. I was so naive back then that I thought that I was gonna get a fairytale ending, my happily ever after. I got my hopes up so high, that the allowance for me to fall was extreme.” She replied putting a smile back on her face. “In real life, you don’t always get a happy ending.”

“Well Katie,” The host started. “I’m sure that one day you will get your happy ending.” She stated encouragingly.

“I bet you are.” Katie replied flatly, not really believing that that will happen.

“There you have it folks, our one-on-one with Katie Moscowitz. Join us next week for.....”

“You did great Katie.” Monica said excitedly.

“It was like my hundredth interview Monica.” Katie replied with a fake laugh to boot.

“I know that laugh. What’s up Katie? Was it about the guy in your story? I knew the story you were saying was true!” 

“Of course my story was true! You know I wouldn’t lie about something like that!” Katie replied truly smiling now.

“Who was the guy?” She asked curiously.

“What guy?” Katie replied playing dumb.

“The guy who made you give up on love.” She stated blankly.
