Y/n's POV
The walls felt like they were closing in. My room-our room-once the safest corner of this house, now felt like a prison. I couldn't sit. I couldn't stand. I couldn't breathe without feeling like something inside me was breaking all over again.
"Aarohi... Advait..."
I whispered their names again and again like a prayer, my body trembling, arms wrapped around my knees as I sat on the floor near the bed.
It had been hours.
Maybe days.
I couldn't tell anymore.
No calls. No updates.
No sign of Jungkook.
No sign of anyone.
And my children-my babies-were gone.
I couldn't protect them.
That thought alone made me want to rip the walls down with my bare hands.
My parents were gone too. My younger brother wasn't answering. My sister's house was empty. All my people-gone.
"Why..." I mumbled under my breath, voice cracking as my tears slipped down. "Why is this happening? What did we do...?"
My hand reached to the side of the bed, clutching the small bracelet Aarohi had left behind the night before-the one with the little blue star. She never went anywhere without it. I had found it near the entryway, and the second I saw it, my knees gave out.
Suddenly-
The door creaked open.
I looked up, hopeful. "Jungkook?!"
But it wasn't him.
It was Jimin.
He stepped inside slowly, his face heavy with something I couldn't place-guilt, maybe. Regret. His eleven-year-old son, Taemin, peeked behind him, but Jimin told him to wait outside with a soft pat on the shoulder.
"Y/n..." his voice was gentle. "I came as soon as I-"
"Where's Jungkook?" I stood up too quickly, stumbling slightly, my voice shaking. "Where is he? Did he find them? Please tell me he found them-tell me he's on his way. Tell me he's safe-"
Jimin stepped forward, holding my shoulders. "Y/n, listen-"
"No! Don't say it like that! I know that tone. Don't you dare give me that tone, Jimin. Tell me something real! Where is my husband?!"
He clenched his jaw.
"Tell me!" I screamed, shoving him back, tears flooding my eyes again. "My kids are missing! My parents-gone! Jungkook has disappeared! And no police officer even looks me in the eye anymore!"
I sobbed, choking on the grief that sat like a rock on my chest.
"I don't know anything anymore! I don't know who to trust, I don't know why this is happening, I don't know what Junghyun wants or how the hell he's even alive!" My voice cracked. "I don't even know if my kids ate today, Jimin..."
Jimin's eyes softened. "Y/n... sit, please."
"I can't sit! I can't-Jimin-I can't sit when I don't know if my babies are scared right now, or crying, or calling out for me! You're a father, Jimin. Tell me what I'm supposed to do when I can't hear their voices anymore!"
He reached out, pulling me into a hug despite my resistance.
And finally, I broke.
Sobs tore from my throat, and I collapsed against him like my bones had turned to ash. "My Aarohi... she doesn't even like the dark. And Advait-he tries to act strong, but he needs someone to brush his hair every night before bed-he needs me, Jimin..."
