Authors Note: This is kind of like a different version of Unenchanted by Chanda Hahn but I guess you can call it fanfiction if you want but the characters are different so...

I rushed into our small kitchen and grabbed a protein bar and scarfed it down before running outside. It was happening again. I was late for school.

I got on my bike and rode to school like a mad man, my hair whipping my face in the wind. It was tangled again and I desperately tried to tame the wild mess it had become with my fingers.

I groaned in frustration when my hair decided to stay how it was. I jumped off my bike and ran into the school, receiving a couple of weird stares from the seniors.

The school was empty, meaning that everyone was already in class. I opened the door as quietly as I could muster but the teacher was staring at me.

I felt my cheeks turn pink when he handed me a detention slip. It was probably my third one this year. I took a seat near the front as all of the ones in the back were taken.

The bell rang after 5 minutes and I went to my next class that I had with Charlotte, my best friend.

I sat on the corner farthest from the door and watched everyone coming in. My eyes fell on Jesse Mitchell. He was extremely attractive with golden blonde hair and twinkling blue eyes that would sparkle whenever he laughed.

I tried my best not to sigh like a lovesick teenager as he laughed at a joke his friend, Cole, made. I felt someone plop down next to me and snapped out of my reverie.

"So, are you excited for the field trip tomorrow?" an overly enthusiastic girl said. I thought about it as I shook my head.

"Why not? Jesse is going!" I glared at Charlotte which made her laugh. This would be one of the few field trips that I had been to as it was free.

"You should just talk to him" she said, bumping my shoulder.

"I would end up making a fool out of myself and he would run away." I told her and she shook her head.

"Hey Jesse!" Charlotte waved at him and he waved back and flashed her a smile, not looking a bit weirded out that a random person had just said "hello" to him.

"See? It's not that hard." When I stayed silent, she gave me an accusing stare. I shrugged and turned to look at the teacher who had just come in the class.

I got on my bike, grateful to have survived the school day without embarrassing myself. I rode home quickly and saw my mother's car still wasn't there.

I entered the empty apartment. I went to my room and dropped my book bag on the floor and went to the bathroom to takes shower. It took around 10 minutes just to get the water just right.

I stripped off my clothes and went into the shower. I heard a thumping noise come from my room and I stopped moving in alarm.

I looked past the curtains and made sure the bathroom was empty before getting out. I quickly put on the robe and turned off the shower.

Thump. Thump. My heart quickened at the sound and I grabbed a glass vase and dumped out the flowers.

I slowly opened the door and went to my room, where I heard the sound. I looked towards the open window and closed it. I looked under the bed to find it empty.

I heard a clatter of clothes moving from my closet and turned towards the sound. I slowly reached for the handle, my vase ready.

I opened it and was about to strike when a dark blue zoomed out at an inhuman speed and opened the window and left my room.
