The Wedding

I held Mark's hand. This was supposed to be the best day of my life, but my career seamed to ruin it. In a way the forest was beautiful, the bare trees danced in the wind, and the crinkly autumn leaves crunched underneath our feet. The moon was full tonight, it shined through the trees and lit our path as we walked together to our friend, who now conveniently was our pastor on this 'special' evening.  I gave a nervous smile to Mark and whispered to him,  "Do you think they will find us here?" He stopped and gave me a reassuring hug, "I'm sure we will have a few hours before they track us, don't worry." It wasn't the most greatest thing to hear, but just his presence here with me was comforted. I really loved him.

The thing was...we were spies. Or technically fired spies, it was complicated. Originally each of our agencies were on the opposite side, destined to take each other out. My mission was to retrieve a certain, classified element that put our country in danger. And by fate, it happened to be my dear Mark's mission also. When we arrived at the place, it was love at first sight, or should I say love- at-first-attempt-to-kill-each-other. We worked out our differences eventually. We also decided to hide the object that could start WWIII in a safe place where no one would find it. This resulted in a rage blow up with both of our agencies because they both wanted the doomsday object, and almost nothing was going to stop them from tracking us down to get to it. If we ever got caught, they would torchure   the information out of us....and then kill us. We were running for our lives every single day.

I smoothed out my wedding dress and looked at my soon-to-be husband. We stood in front of our 'pastor' (his name was Charlie). It was just us three, because we really didn't have any family, I thought it was kinda sad. But in the end, they would just be in danger anyway. Charlie started, "We three are here today to join Kim Smith and Mark Croo in marriage..." A gunshot sounded off in the distance. They found us.

"Oh crap!" He murmured, "do you love each other?"
"We do" we said simultaneously.
"Than just kiss the bride" he said and ran off. I knew he would be okay, they weren't after him.

In probably under five seconds mark grabbed me and kissed me. I was taken by surprise. I soon recovered and gasped, "We got to go!" Mark grinned, he was never a coward in the face of danger, he held out his hand and said, "For better or for worse." I grabbed it and finished the line, "Till death do us part." Then we ran. And never looked back.
