Multiple thoughts shot through my head at once, trying to get out of the sticky situation I was in. I was, no am a thinker, this is what I was good at.

"You see..." I stumble, deciding on the truth. "Jess… I-" suddenly a huge sound went off. A sound so ear piercing and so sharp.

My own thoughts shattered through my head as I mentally screamed.

The lights had gone out and a red light was spinning in the center of the wall in front of us.

That's not the bell, that's an alarm.

A siren went of repeatedly as everyone in the room froze. It was more silent than math class on Fridays. Everyone was just standing or sitting there in shock.

I looked around, barely able to see anyone around me, but they still all looked pale, and I persumed I did too.

Suddenly a voice came over the loud speaker,

"Please remain calm we do not wish to alarm you, please exit in an orderly fashion as practiced in drills enstated by your superiors. Please remain calm we do not wish to alarm you..."

"What the hell is that about?" Aiden whispered quietly to us as the message started to repeat over the speaker.

"I don't know, but I think we shouldn't piss whoever "they" is off." I said as I stood up, being the first in the room to take action as I started to walk out the door, and everyone else in the cafiteria soon followed. Panic was clearly visable amongst people as whispers were passed along under the noise of the siren.

Daylight scorched the eyes of everyone who walked out into the halls, but everyone was too scared to groan.

The alarm was playing loudly, as paniced students ran out onto the field, panic rising more and more as no one saw any teachers on the field, like there should've been. Everyone was above yelling there panic out clearly now.

"What's going on!?"

"Where is everyone!?"

"Guys, we need to bail." I hear Aiden whisper.

Continued panic falls over the students, as some start to act like idiots.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Sallie whispered.

"There's no way we can do that, what if teachers do come?" Briana remarked.

"OK, forget it." Aiden said back to them, "But I doubt they will Bri, can't you feel it? Something is hella wrong." I thought about it for a second, then replied.

"Aidens right." I said, whiched seemed to shock everyone else, including Aiden.

"Who are you? The Colt I knew never broke a single rule in his entire life." Alison said. I looked over at them. That too was true, but I still sided with my best friend on the eeriness of the situation.

"Well, my honest instinct is telling me something else right now. Something's off, this isn't like a normal "fire drill."" I said, doing air quotes.

"Something's fishy, I feel like its a non natural disaster." I spoke my mind to my bespectical friends. They looked at me, before Jess blurted out.

"All the more reason to stay here! Safty in numbers... Right?"

Suddenly, there was a scream that came from the middle of the group. Everyone turned their attention to the mob of students, and as screams began to continue, it got brighter and brighter outside...

"You just had to talk..." Aiden said as we ran towards the students we strayed away from.

"I-i-its gonna-!" The voice came again, but immediately, the ground started shaking as a boom filled the air, popping my ears.

Ringing replaced my sense of audio. And I clutched the side of my head.

"Ahh, my ears." I groaned, but because I was deafed, mostly all I could hear was muffled screams.

I gently looked back up, first seeing the students, the school border, but further from there I was only to be greeted with the sight of a huge explosion miles away, rapidly approaching us all.

"Run!" I heard Aidens muffled scream. Everyone in front of me flipped around and bolted, screaming and trampling each other.

I just stared, and I felt like that was all I could do. Just stare. There was no way we were excaping or out running that. The only way we could possible survive is if we-

"Colt!"I heard my ran being called and my arm being tugged. I wheeled around to see Jess.

"Hide." I finished my thoughts out loud.

"What?" Jess asked me. My ears returned to hear and feel the explosion rumble getting closer. I quickly acted. "Follow me!" I yelled, running straight down the stairs, I wasn't sure if anyone was following but I was gonna try to survive.

I quickly turned right, heading back into the cafeteria, I held the door open, being followed by all my friends, and two others. I didn't have much time to waste, I quickly shut the door and continued to lead, bashing the door open down to the basement of the school.

"Take cover down here, now!"

The last thing I remembered was a glowing light before shutting the door and blacking out.
