Running, running, running. A cliff. Damn. Minseok looked behind him and saw the dark grey clouds closing in on him. He turned back to the cliff and took a deep breath. Minseok closed his eyes, took a few steps back, and then ran to jump. He felt the ground leave his feet, and the wind envelop him as his wings expanded and carried him across the gorge beneath him. He looked back briefly. The clouds, they were right behind him. A hand reached out and of them and-
"Luhan!!!" Minseok shrieked and shot up in bed. He looked around his dark and cold bedroom and found he was alone. Minseok didn't know if he was relieved or not. He fell back against his sweat drenched pillow and took a few deep breaths. The third fucking time this week. He bitterly thought to himself. He ran his fingers through his hair and threw off the blanket that his legs were entangled in. He padded into his bathroom and fell against the sink. It was all he could do to raise his head to look at his reflection. His stomach knotted at the sight of his face. Minseok didn't look like Minseok anymore. He hadn't for a week or so. People had noticed, too. Not a day went by that Lay didn't try to get Minseok into his office to take a look at him, but Minseok always refused. His eyes were bloodshot with dark circles residing around them. His face was becoming colorless, and soon enough people would begin to mistake him for a zombie. Minseok rubbed his eyes and averted his gaze to his shower. He began to take off his shirt but was stopped by an all too familiar feeling in his throat. His mouth began to water and his chest felt empty. Knowing what was about to come, he quickly kneeled by the toilet and took a position above it. Merely a second later, Minseok gagged over the toilet and all the contents of his stomach spilled into the bowl. He coughed and spat after the first wave and then sat back on his legs. He could taste his bile in the back of his throat and smelled it in his sinuses. The sensory overload brought on the ever present second wave and Minseok threw himself over the toilet again. After another few harsh wretches into the toilet, he finally felt like he was done. He shakily stood up and flushed his toilet. He watched the contents of his stomach swirl with the water and disappear into the the sewers. Violently vomiting nearly every night for the past week really took a lot out of Minseok. He stumbled back in front of his sink and washed out his mouth. Even after countless rinses and a few run overs with toothpaste, the taste of his alcohol induced shame still rang out loud and clear in his soiled mouth. Minseok wiped away the run from his nose and eyes as he walked to turn on his shower. Warm water was a waste of time and money at this point. No matter how hot he made the water, Minseok was still constantly cold on the inside. Nothing he ever did seemed to change that. He only felt warm when was with- No, I won't think of him. I must learn to live without him. Minseok shook the thoughts of Luhan from his mind and stepped inside the freezing cold shower. He relished in the icy water that fell over his tense muscles. Minseok eyed the bottle of bourbon that he left in the shower a few nights ago. Before the better judgement of a sober mind could make an appearance, Minseok reached for the bottle and uncapped it. It was 4 in the morning and Minseok no longer tried to justify his desperate and pathetic actions. Minseok's ideal hangover cure had always been having another drink, despite Lay constantly telling him that his logic was bullshit. His shower was quick and relatively easy, the only difficulty being Minseok accidently getting hammered again. He stumbled out of the shower and dropped the empty bottle in the small waste basket beside the sink. He fell back into his room and crashed down naked on his mattress. The sheets were instantly soaked as he didn't even bother to dry off before leaving the bathroom. He rolled on to his back and stared at the ceiling fan. It moved air around the room but Minseok hardly even noticed it. The room was cold, downright freezing in fact, just the way Minseok liked it. A sound coming from the corner of the room behind him caught his attention. He sat up and looked towards the source of the noise. Drip, drip, drip. Minseok looked at the leak in his ceiling and with a flick of his hand the water build up in his ceiling froze over and the dripping noise stopped. He laid back down on his bed and closed his eyes. The dripping sound started up again and Minseok growled. He got off the bed and eyed the leak. It was still frozen over. The dripping got louder and Minseok noticed it was pouring outside. He walked towards his window and sat down on the extending ledge. It began to rain harder and soon the city lights outside Minseok's apartment were nothing but crystalline shapes of red, yellow, and green. His window was cold to the touch, but Minseok leaned his bare back against it anyway. He breathed steadily and closed his eyes.
"Come on Minseok! It's not that much farther, just 3 more blocks!"
"You said that 3 blocks ago..."
"Well I mean it this time!"
"Said that 3 blocks ago, too." Minseok muttered to himself. Luhan stuck his tongue out at the younger and waited for him to catch up. When Minseok was beside him, Luhan slipped his hand into his and began to pull him forward. Minseok laughed as he stumbled along behind his friend.
"Luhan, qui-quit it! I'm not as fast as you!" Luhan laughed and brushed the notion off as nonsense.
"You're plenty fast you liar!" Luhan mocked. Minseok looked down and saw the concrete beneath the two boys feet turn darker in spots. In only a few moments, the sidewalk was dark and the two boys were soaked. Minseok ran and pulled Luhan under an awning to hide from the rain. Minseok groaned.
"I told you and Kai what the weather is like in London, but no! We might get lucky, you said, don't bring your rain jacket, you're just being paranoid, you said." Luhan only laughed at their misfortune and sat Minseok down on the dry ground. He wrapped an arm around Minseok's shoulder and pulled him close as the two watched the rain pour down, and waited for it to let up together. Minseok motioned his hand and froze raindrops as they descended. Luhan motioned his hand too, and sent frozen rain flying at Minseok's face, causing him great amusement.
"It's still been fun, though. Don't you think?"
