James POV
I keep watch on how long Lily's taking. She's been gone half an hour since I waved at her from the window. I bite my nails nervously and have finally decided to go look for her when the door comes flying open. Lily almost runs in and when our eyes meet her face crumples, signalling that she's about to cry. Her hair is windblown and her eyes are red. I dash up immediately.
"Oh Merlin, Lils-" I pull Lily against me and her tears fall. She starts crying so much that her whole body is shaking.
"J-James" she hiccups, pressing her head against my collar bone. She gulps heavily.
"Shh.. C'mon..." I lead her to get our bed and sit her down, taking both her hands. "What's wrong Lil? What happened?"
Lily sniffs loudly before answering. "Snape is working at the school"
My heart thumps heavily at her words and I open and close my mouth, looking like a fish. How did Snape get to be a teacher? He's a bloody deatheater.
"Was he horrible to you?" I growl, getting defensive.
Lily smiles softly and shakes her head. "He tried to hug me but I pushed him away. He told me that he loves me."
I leap up, getting angry. "He said that?! Where is the git? I'm going to kill him-"
Lily pulls me back down on the bed and cups my face in her tiny hands. "James, it's not worth it. You know I don't love him back"
I smile guiltily. I'm so lucky to have this girl. "I know. I trust you Lils. I just can't stand the fact that he might... steal you away from me"
Lily looks outraged. "I'm never leaving you" she says firmly. "Never. I'm staying until the end"
Instead of replying with words I connect lips with Lily, feeling a million emotions at once. It's a slow and passionate kiss, but the feelings it contains are precious.
"I love you"
"I love you too"
We both change and slide into bed and I pull Lily's warm body against me, hugging her like I'm never letting go. Which I'm not. Lily shoves me off her jokingly and I fall on the floor (A/N can we just imagine this pls? Ahah) As I drift off, still lying on the floor, I faintly hear lily chuckle.
