*Cats POV*
It's been about a week since I started dating Kalen. It's really been not as bad as I had thought. He texts me goodnight, and goodmorning every day, but he still has the same temper he has always had. I'm not going to make him change for me though.
Tonight is the end of the year dance for my school. I'm not even sure if Kalen is going or not. The ticket sales happened before he even knew about me. Just then I heard a knock at my door. "Cat can you get the door, I just stepped out of the shower!" I heard my mom yell from the bathroom. "Yes!" I replied.
I raced downstairs to the front door and opened it. There stood my, almost perfect, boyfriend Kalen. He was carrying a bouquet of white roses. He must of remembered me mentioning them being my favourite in our texts.
"For you my love." He said, as he handed me the bouquet. "Oh, gosh, they're beautiful! Thank you." I said, admiring them. I walked into the kitchen to get a vase, when my mom walked down. "Cat who's this?" I heard her question from behind me. I looked around to see Kalen giving me a cheeky smirk, like he always does.
"Oh, um mom, this is the boyfriend Ive been telling you about." I said shyly looking down at my feet. I seem to do that alot when I'm nervous. "Oh! So you're the famous Kalen, Cat wouldn't shut up about you!" she said. My eyes widened and I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. "Mom!" I hissed. "Isn't that something you keep to yourself mother?" I said.
She chuckled. My mom was like a bestfriend. She liked to do things that got on my nerves, just for the hell of it. "Oh, don't worry Cat! I'm sure he talks about you just as much!" said my mom, still focused on Kalen.
"She's right Cat, don't be so nervous." Kalen said. He turned back to look at my mom, and reached to shake her hand, before my mom laughed and gave him a hug. "No need to be so formal Kalen." My mom said.
Kalen chuckled and said, "I just dropped by to give Cat the flowers I had got her." My moms eyes brightened. "Flowers?! Well, this ones a keeper Cat. Better then that jerk Collins who-" "MOM!" I interrupted her. That was something Kalen didn't need to know about.
Collins was my boyfriend about 3 months ago. Until he got a bit agressive. He was like Kalen in the sense that, he had a short temper. But when he lost his temper, it was 10 times worse, and it lead to being physical. I eventually had the courage to break up with him, when Avril and my mother convinced me.
"Oh! I have the perfect vase for those Cat!" she walked into the kitchen to fill a vase with water and put my flowers in. "Mind telling me about Collins?" Kalen whispered. I looked over to see his fists clenched. He did that when he was trying to keep his cool. I sighed. "Maybe later."
Just then my mom walked back in. "Alright, I have to get to work. I have a meeting in 20 minutes. I trust you guys alone together." She put her shoes on and opened the door. "Nice meeting you Miss Chandler!" Kalen called. "Oh please, its Laurie!" She called back and shut the door.
I avoided Kalen's gaze because I knew what he wanted. He wanted to know about Collins. "Soo..." I started breaking the silence. "Want to watch a movie?" I asked. He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "You know what I want Cat." He said.
I huffed and shook my head. "It really isn't any of your business." I said, trying to sound intimedating, He chuckled darkly. "Want to tell me here, or in your bedroom?" I crossed my arms around my chest gazing at him, and said "I don't know what you don't understand. But I'm not telling you. And it isn't your position to make me."
I could tell he was getting more and more angry by every word I said. "Look Cat. I am your boyfriend. Remember? And Girlfriends tell their boyfriends about past relationships. So I want to know, and you're going to tell me. Got it now, doll?" He hissed back.
I looked down at my shoes again, and sighed in defeat. He isn't going to quit it. I know he isn't. Just then I was lifted from the ground. Kalen was carrying me bridal style to the bedroom. I just stayed there and fumbled around with my fingers.
I was sat down on my bed and Kalen sat down beside me. "Tell me about it, baby girl." Kalen whipered, his voice not being as harsh as earlier. "Alright, alright!" I whined.
"Collins was a boyfriend. And he was like you, with the short temper and all. But he was worse." I said simply. Kalen furrowed his eyebrows together. I huffed and carried on with my story. "He would, get agressive with me. Not only that but, he would tell me things, and point out all of my insecurities... It got bad. Sometimes I would even come home and..." I paused. "Come home and what?" Kalen questioned. "I would, cut myself." I said quietly. I looked down at my lap.
Kalen pulled me closer to him and craddled me. Tears went down my face, and he wiped them away with his thumb. "Can I see?" He asked quietly and cautiously. I nodded and began to roll up my long sleeve.
Kalens eyes widened at the sight of my many scars. I didn't want him to know. I didn't want anyone to know. The only one who knew was Avril. "Baby, you can't." I heard him say. "Those are recent." He carried on.
I was ashamed. Ashamed at what I had done. He was probably too. "If you were to accidently go to deep, or something, or you went too far. If you were to leave me. I don't know what I would do. You aren't leaving me. Not now not ever." Kalen whispered in my ear,
I nodded my head. Kalen sighed and said, "I'm going to help you. Both me and Avril, we will help you." I chuckled. "Avril doesn't even like you." I said. He rolled his eyes playfully at me. "Well she has to suck it up then."
Kalen rose from the bed and did a stretch. "Any way, there was something I was going to ask from you before this." He started. He went to his knees so he was the same height as me sitting on the bed, and took my hands in his. "Will you go to the dance with me?" He asked.
I smiled hugely at him. "Ofcoarse."
