I was walking home after a normal day of boring classes at my local community collage wearing my usual outfit of a black tank top, black finger less gloves, and dark jean shorts that reached the middle of my thigh. Art has always been my passion in way or another, I've been thinking about majoring in it. Anyway, as I was walking home, I took to the allies and continued to walk. I listened the the soft tap of my black converse as I stepped and the slight echo of water dripping into shallow paddles under pipes. The allies have a certain art of their own if you wish to call it that. With the black mildew stains on the red bricks and the green moss that sometimes grows on the red walls as well. The steam from broken pipes gives an eerie but beautiful effect, especially if the lights it just right. My waist long black hair sways in rhythm with my step as a walked through a cloud of steam. I took a deep breath of the moist air but crinkled my nose at the stench of oil, rotting food, and musty scent of mildew that filled the air. Sighing, I continued to walk through the alley, completely unaware that I was walking straight into an ambush. Gradually, I heard this whisper echo through the alley, it was calling my name. Unsure as to who it was or what was going on, I just continued to walk. (I wasn't that far from exiting the alley maze.) Though as I continued to walk the voice called my name louder and louder until it felt like the voice was echoing in my head. Unsettled by this, I growled, now on guard and ready for a fight. I stopped and looked around through narrowed eyes, waiting for someone to appear. When no one did, I growled, "Who's there!?" In response I hear, "That's none of your concern child." In a taunting voice which made my blood boil in anger. "Child!? I'm 19! Now tell me who you are!" I snarled looking and turning but I saw no one. "Why not look at your reflection, you'll see me there." That voice said. Such a sweet but dangerously deceiving voice. It made my skin crawl with unease but that wasn't going to stop me from finding out who was messing with me, seeing as how I was about to explode from anger. Looking around, I saw a piece of broken mirror about the size of my head and picked it up. Looking into it, I wish I hadn't. What I saw chilled me to the bone. I saw the right side of my face, the left was a shadow taking the form of my face. The eye, her eye, was a glowing red with a black slit for a pupil. It looked the eye of a viper, except the black or her pupil seemed to be an bottomless black pit of evil, that wanted nothing more than to cause pain. Also, there were four parallel glowing red scars across that entire side of her face.

This is when my life changed forever. My life, as well as my brother's, would end 5 months following this. That damn demon, why couldn't she have just left me alone, then my family wouldn't have had to suffer like this, and my sister wouldn't have to live with this nightmare constantly replaying in her head every day. That damn demon, my damn past. I should have known that that mom and dad's disappearance meant something. Why didn't I see it sooner!

"I'm you Frost, or should I say, you're about to become me." the shadow said with an evil chuckle. "Never!" I snarled dropping the mirror and stepping back from it. "Who are you" I growled as I was stepping back. The mirror cracked but stayed intact but the shadow pressed her hand onto the mirror and it began to bulge as she emerged from the broken mirror. "I'm Shadeara." she said watching me with amusement and evil intent clear in her eyes. "W-What are you? Why do yo....Ach!" I started to growl my voice raising until it felt like something was choking me and I couldn't move. "You'll find that your body is completely paralyzed. You Midnight, are my new physical body. So I hope you said goodbye to your siblings this morning, because you won't see them again." Shadeara said tauntingly as vines of shadow coiled around me. I couldn't do anything but stand there frozen as I felt her invade my body and take control. I manged to let out a soundless scream of defiance but it was no use. "You're mine now Frost." the demon said moving my body and flexing my fingers against my will with a smirk. "No one can stop me now." she chuckled evilly ready to leave the alley, that was, until defiant ol' popped back up. "I'm not gone yet! And I'm not done fighting you! You CAN'T have my body!" I snarled savagely. This took that stupid demon by surprise. "W-What?! How...?!" she hissed in astonishment though I didn't give her a chance to finish. "I'll just seal you like you were going to do to me! This way no one else has to be controlled by you!" I growled at her pushing back into my into my mind and driving her into my heart where I sealed her. Though in the process, I felt a burning sensation on the left side of my and my left eye didn't feel quite right. "NOOOOO!!!!" I heard Shadeara scream in frustration from my heart before falling silent. Suddenly it felt like there was something invading my mind and it hurt a lot. I leaned back against the wall behind me and slid down until I sat on the ground. Slowly the pain ebbed away and I sighed letting out the deep breath I had just taken. I looked up and my eyes widened as I saw a man in a dark gray trench coat with red hair and pointy ears that didn't look human. He wore a white mask so I wasn't able to see his face and the eye holes were vacant making it look like her lacked a face at all. "W-Who..?" I wasn't able to finish my question because the pain was back and worse than before. The last thing I remember is my brother faintly calling my name. Every thing is just black after that because I passed out.
