Here It Is (Romance Poem)

He leans in

I lean in

Here it is

The kiss

Sparks fly

Electric bolts

Wait, what?

I feel nothing.

Then, another week

Another boy

This time

For sure

Nope

Not this one, either.

Then on the subway

Given up hope

See him

Melt

Eyes like chocolate

But tired

Surprise, lean in anyway

Catch him unaware

No sparks.

Warm bubbles

Not electricity

But electric blanket

Warm fuzzy smothering

From all everywhere

Starts in lips

Goes to stomach

Then to heart

Want this feeling forever

Finally

Found him.
