Keep Pushing Forward

Days had passed, and I remained to myself. My brain jumped to plenty of different topics, including the mysterious girl I'd once met. Cooler kept to himself, seeing I wasn't in any mood to speak. At this point my tears ran dry and all I could do was sit in pain.
You're a screw up..

Your mother is dead because of your father's careless
mistakes...

He never really wanted you...

No one here wants you, Kuriza...

I hadn't eaten in a couple of weeks, all I did was stare at my floor with a blank expression, and a broken heart. Only hours later was there a knock at my door. I jumped, sinking back into reality. "Y-Yes..?" I stammered with a raspy tone. That was when he entered. The man who use to despise me, the man who'd laugh at my failure and pain, yet, the man who comforted me in the loss of my grandfather... The man who protected my well being from the possible dangers of others, the man who actually informed me of my past. Cooler. The only family member I had left.
"Do you mind if I come sit?" He questioned sympathetically.
"No..." I replied as my gaze shifted back to the floor and I scooted over to make room. Cooler came to sit next to me and placed a caring hand on my shoulder.
"Kuriza... I understand that this is news to you.. But you need to find a way to push it all down and move on. Our people have been wondering where you've been, and, we need to begin your training..." He sighed. I was a wreck and didn't like the idea of this.
"No," I lowly growled, "No..! I'm not going to just move on..! No one understands this.. You..! You don't understand this..!" I snarled, shooting him a hateful glare.

Cooler narrowed his eyes at me in a rather upset way.
"Pardon me..?! I don't understand..?! Kuriza..! I'll have you know I experienced way more than you have at your age..! My mother was assassinated in the genocide of our race, I had my throne ripped from me, and my brother and I have become enemies..!" He sat for a moment with a scowl on his face before all his anger dropped. "Look.. I learned to push all the memories and feelings down and focus on the matter at hand. You have to be brave, Kuriza. Our race needs us, and we can't have yourself locked in your room, drowning in your sorrow," He finished. My face dropped and I looked down at my hands.
"Oh.. I-I'm so sorry... I didn't know..." I whined before burying my face in the palms of my hands.
"It's alright, now come Kuriza. There is training to be done." He gave a small smile and continued, "And maybe afterword we can play a bit of soccer." My face lit up, and I looked up to smile at him. After all, I hadn't played soccer in a while, but it happened to be one of my favorite pastimes. The last time I ever played was with my father, about a year ago when times were good.
"Alright, yes sir." I replied as I stood.
"Please, just Cooler will do." He smiled after standing and placing his hand back into my shoulder. I sighed happily as we walked out the door, and into the training center. This would be another great start, I could feel it.
