The Nerd and The Soccer Star

DANIELLA

Well today my younger brother Spade has soccer practice and so does my older brothers, Matt and Nathan.

They left just a while ago so I had to be the one to go with Spade. I brought along my dog Lucy and a Frisbee so I could play with her. Vanessa, my bestfriend went with me so that I would have some company.

We walked our way to the field as I sat down on the grass and placed Spade's things there. Lucy was so excited that she ran, dragging me. I took off her leash and told her to sit. I placed the leash in the bag of Spade and threw the frisbee so that Lucy will catch it with her mouth. Vanessa just stood beside me.

She caught it a few times and when I threw it a bit higher, she didn't catch it. It flew away and hit a guy. Oops!!

"Oh my gosh, dude. You just hit Alex Smith," Vanessa said smiling.

So what? She knew that I had a crush on him before and he did like me too, but he chose to break my heart, so whatever, but that was the past. Past is past so leave it alone.

I ran my way to the guy to go get my frisbee.

ALEX

Ouch!! Something hard hit my legs. I turned around and looked down. Oh it was a frisbee. I bent to pick it up, but then I bumped my head into something.

"Sorry," the person muttered.

I picked up the frisbee and stood up. Oh, it was Daniella.

"Is this yours?" I asked.

"Yes," she answered, "now give it to me."

"Uh-uh-uh," I raised the frisbee high so she can't reach it.

She crossed her arms and looked at me with a stern face. I like it when she does that. She held her hand out while opening and closing it. What she meant by that was to give it.

I nodded my head to say no. She gave me the Puppy eyes. I finally gave up and gave the frisbee..

I turned around to see Nathan and Matt staring at me while smiling.

"We see that you found a liking in our sister," they said together and laughed.

I brushed my fingers through my hair feeling embarrased.

"Don't worry man, we won't kill you," Nathan and Matt said.

We laughed.

"Hey man, umm do you mind if-"

"You have her number," I was cut off by Matt.

"No, not at all. Here," Nathan said while puching in numbers in my phone.

"Thanks."

DANIELLA

"Spade, don't run too fast please or else."

He ran again and faster this time.

"Vanessa,come with me."

We chased Spade around and finally caught him.

"You see!!" I yelled at him.

"Look who's behind you," he said.

I turned around to see Alex.

"Hi Daniella," he said.

"Hey there," I replied acting normal. Inside, my heart was beating fast and real fast.

"You're going home already? Let me walk you home," Alex said.

Oh great!! Vanessa and Spade ran with our things with Lucy at the back.

Alex smiled at me and I smiled back.

Try to act normal, I thought to myself. I can do this, It's just one walk home, one walk.

"So, what are you doing tomorrow?" he asked me.

"Umm, summer class in the morning and in the afternoon, I have to go with Spade, AGAIN," I stated.

"What's wrong with going with Spade?" He asked.

Oh, I guess he suspected with that tone in my voice.

"Nothing."

He didn't reply to what I said, the rest of the walk home was silent, nobody said a word and it was awkward, before we used to talk, but now, eh.

After what seemed like hours, I got home. I thanked Alex for the walk home.

I went to the dining table and sat down. Everyone looked at me with smiles on their faces. Oh great!!

They asked me bunch of questions and I answered them all. Now my family was into this. Just my luck.

ALEX

I texted Daniella. At first, I hesitated but then I just did it anyways.

Me: Hi Daniella.

After a couple minutes, she replied.

Daniella: Who's this? :)

Me: You saw me a while ago and I walked you home.

She didn't reply. After 5 minutes.

D: Alex, I hate you. :p

Me: Yes, your'e correct and you know, there's no reason to hate. You should thank me, I walked, you home earlier. :)

D: I'm studying. Don't disturb me.

Me: I know you're not. It's summer.

D: Whatever Alex. :p

I didn't reply after that. I went to sleep after taking a bath. I was exhausted from soccer practice and needed some rest. Why would she study? Then suddenly, 'summer class', I forgot she had summer class.

A: I know you're not. It's summer.

Alex replied.

Who does this guy think he is? I really am studying. I am studying for our exam tomorrow in summer class. He thinks he's Mr.Popular and Mr.Know it All guy that he can say things like that.

Me: Whatever Alex. :p

I continued on studying and after a while, I went to bed. I couldn't sleep properly. Why is he doing this to me, just when I have just moved on, he's here again.
