I quickly texted Jessica and told her I was going out and that she can leave without me. I walked around the locker room and started thinking. I shouldn't be doing that.
He was cocky, but damn did he look good! I waited outside for a few minutes and Anze walked out carrying his hockey bag. He saw me and came towards.
"So, where do you want to go?" he asked.
"I don't know. You choose," I answered.
"Fine. Come on," he said as he took my hand and lead me to his car.
He put his bag in the trunk and then opened the door for me. After I climbed in, he went to his side, got in and started the engine.
His driving was just like his skating - a fast poetry. He was speeding up, taking impossible turns but the ride was still smooth. After a few minutes we arrived at a small bar.
He parked the car and I got out.
"This is one of my favourite places," he said and lead me into the building.
We took our seats and the waitress came. "May I order, please?" He asked me. "Sure," I nodded. I really didn't know what would be appropriate to drink, so I was glad he offered it.
"So, enjoyed the game tonight?"
"Oh, very much," I smiled. "And you?" I asked back when our drinks arrived. He ordered me a piña colada and got himself a whiskey. I took a sip of a delicious drink as he spoke.
"Well, let's see. I scored twice, got an assist, won us a playoff ticket and met a beautiful girl. I think it wasn't that bad," he smirked.
I giggled.
"Well that spin-o-rama was a nice one, what can I say. Not Patrick-Kane-nice, but nice," I mocked him.
His smirk deepened and I heard him chuckle. "That hurt and the only two things nicer than the goal were your gorgeous presence and the dumb look on Rinne's face."
I frowned at the mention of his name.
"Hey, don't say that. He couldn't do anything about it," I said a little harsher than I meant to.
"What, are you two like friends?" He asked, his face clearly shocked.
"No, I mean, I met him afterwards. I ran into him in a hallway and he's really giving himself a hard time about it. I don't doubt the media is helping him too," I quickly explained.
"Well, I can't take that goal back, can I?" He asked me back.
He was right.
There was nothing anyone of us could do about it.
"Enough with the pitty here. Tell me a little about yourself," he interrupted my thoughts.
"Okay. My name is Anna Maddox. I come from Montréal, Canada. I am 24 years old. My birthday is on October 8th. I have two older and one younger brother. I am a law student. I live in a small apartment. Oh, and I really don't like ice cream."
"What?! You don't like ice cream?! How can you not like ice cream??"
I shrugged. "I don't know. It's just weird."
He watched me like I just fell from Mars.
"It's your turn," I said quickly.
He woke up from his trance and began his story. We talked like that for quite some time and it was past midnight when we finally reached my apartment.
"Well, tonight was lovely, thank you," I said.
"No problem," he smirked and gave me a quick peck on a cheek. "I'll see you soon," he added and went back to his car.
