It was late in the afternoon when Aelin Ashryver Galathynius arrived back at her apartment in Rifthold. The journey back from Wendlyn had been long and tiresome, she had been unable to sleep due to the constant rocking of the boat. She missed Rowan so much it hurt, she told herself that she would see him soon and that he would be alright and safe during her absence. When Aelin arrived at the store where her apartment was, hidden safe and secure above, she unlocked the door and entered. The first time since leaving Rowan that she felt even relatively safe. She hated having to be constantly on guard, but that was her life and she was used to it. She entered the secret door and went up the stairs that led to her beloved apartment. It was late and Aelin was tired and cold, soaked to the bone thanks to the unforgiving downpour. She got out all her weapons and laid them on the dining room table, leaning Goldryn against the leg. Keeping one dagger with her at all times, just in case. Something about her apartment was different, things had been moved. She assumed that Chaol had stayed here, for reasons unkown to her. She'd have to remind him that it was not his until Celaena Sardothien was dead. She ran herself a hot bath, for she had aching bones and smelt like death. She soaked in the bath until the water was cold and her fingers and toes looked like prunes. She got into her bed clothes and fell into the soft warm, cloudlike bed. Groaning as her sore and tense muscles relaxed, falling into a deep dreamless sleep.
