I was in Aunt Rachel's son's room. Her son, Alec, died a few months ago of cancer. I was there for the funeral. I stood right near the coffin of Alec. His skin was pearly white and his dark hair covered his right eye. He looked so peaceful like a giant weight had been taken off his shoulders. Me and him were pretty close. So it obviously hurt for me to be in his own bedroom. I lay in bed just in my boxer shorts because it was scorching hot. I got up and observed my self in the mirror. I grew a few inches taller and my hair grew out. I need to cut it. I carefully took each step towards the bathroom opening the door with a slight creaking noise. I saw a pair of scissors neatly placed on the black granite countertop and a razor on top of the toilet seat. I grabbed the scissors and randomly cut pieces of my hair, but eventually making it the perfect cut I've ever done. I was looking at the scissors front and back. And I did it.... I took the scissors and cut myself. I carefully slid the blade across my wrist watching each drop of blood begin to form. The cuts start to bleed. And you know what I do? I turn the faucet on hot water and put my cut wrist to it. It burns, It hurts. It helps me forget this world and put focus on to my pain. It feels nice. "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING JAKUB????", Aunt Rachel screams, making me forget my thoughts. She yanks me out of the bathroom and snatches the scissors from the countertop. She shakes it in her hand and looks at me dead in the eye. "I WAS MAKING BREAKFAST AND YOU DECIDE TO CUT?! DEAR, I LOVE YOU ALOT AND I FEEL VERY BAD TO SEE YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF", Aunt Rachel scolds. "Aunt Rachel, I've been having lots of problems at home and school. I just want to forget the pain and-," I say as I fiddle with my fingers. "NO. NOT AYMORE. You're home now , my love," she says as she pulls me into an embrace. I put my arms around her feeling the warmth. It feels nice to be....loved. It's something I have never experienced. "Now, dear, you'll have to let this heal, ok?," Aunt Rachel says calmly as she get some bandages and Neosporin. She places me on the bed and takes my wrist in her lap. "I love you Aunt Rachel," the words bursting from my mouth. "I love you too, Jakub," she says as she places the last bandage on the cut. "Now put on your pajamas. Its time to eat," she says smiling. "Ok'', I say. I put on a black shirt and red plaid pajamas and follow her to the kitchen. I eat the eggs and toast that she prepared for me. "Wow. That was a nice breakfast. Thank you," I say smiling. As I was about to enter the movie room to relax Aunt Rachel suddenly says, "Jakub, honey! You're going to school tomorrow. So get ready." The words shock me. I don't want to face that hell anymore. I don't want to go there and get beat up. I don't want to be treated differently. I don't want to be that unwanted animal. Summerset Valley high school. The place to die. But then I get a feeling something good will happen. Something to make me happy. ''Someone new will come and will completely change my life," I say to myself before I close the door and think how lovely the outcome will be.
