Meshed 6
I was still laughing madly. I swear, hyenas might've confuse me as their own kind.
"Avy? Is something wrong?" Kate asked from my back.
"Yeah, Ave. Did they say something funny?" Vien added from Kate's left.
I heard Ethan snickering malignantly from my right. "Oh dear, Avery. Had lunacy finally caught up with you?"
I stopped laughing at Scarr and glared at him instead. "No, Ethan. It's just-"
"Ms. Hudson, is something the matter?" Mr. Barnes asked.
Being in the front really had its disadvantages.
I mustered all my strength to speak coherently. "O-Oh. I'm sorry, Mr. Barnes. I just never knew Icarus was such a big fan of Justin Bieber." After I said it, I began laughing again.
Everyone in the room breathed dramatically. Was it a taboo to point out the new student's style? Apparently it was.
I am not a fan of Bieber's. I mean, Beliebers? Really? His fans put the 'fan' in fanatics. Creepy indeed.
Scarr just stood innocently by Mr. Barnes, still grinning. This guy really enjoyed the attention.
His entire look changed but I can still see through it. Instead of his usual light messy bed hair, he had the Bieber style. Yes, you know it. The dark hair with clinging bangs. Also, Scarr was wearing honey brown contacts. Definitely like Bieber's.
The annoying Scarr was cosplaying as Justin Bieber. The hell. This guy's clearly hiding. Why duplicate a pop star's image in the first place?
Mr. Barnes gestured him to go sit in the vacant chair at the back. When he passed through the aisles, almost all the girls sighed dreamily at him. By almost, all of them not including me of course.
Sigh. I hate Bieber Fever.
"Now, now, settle down. C'mon, guys. Let's settle the racket. It's History Period and and our topic's 'bout King Henry VIII!" Mr. Barnes said cheerily, obviously trying to lift the class' eyelids.
You see, our Homeroom teacher's also our first period. I know, pure torture. But Mr. Barnes' an exception. He teaches History. And even better, he'll be teaching something I've already studied on.
I slowly narrowed my eyes at Ethan. "You're on, Mr. Know-it-All."
"We'll see about that, Avy Hyena," he said, twice as menacing.
"King Henry VII was under the Tu-" Mr. Barnes started.
"Tudor House," Ethan and I said out loud.
Mr. Barnes smiled kindly. He was used to our usual friendly competition. "Yes... Well, he ascended the throne at a young age actually. He was-"
"17."
"He was really young, wasn't he?" he chuckled awkwardly. "Anyway, he wasn't really supposed to be king. It was supposed to be his brother, Prin-"
"Prince Arthur of Wales."
Mr. Barnes smiled patiently at the two of us, I swear I saw his eye twitching. He should really be happy. Ethan and I are the only students awake during History. "Why did he reform England's church?" our teacher asked automatically.
"To be able to divorce Queen Catherine for that flat chested Anne Boleyn," Ethan said immediately. I clenched my fists. He got before me.
"It turned into what?"
