Ring! Ring! The telephone rang with an annoying high pitched tone. George rushed over to the phone and answered. He already knew who was on the other line. Who else would be calling at 3 am. The voice said on the other line, "you ready?" George whispered back "yes". George ran downstairs as fast as he could and grabbed a black duffle bag and his coat and proceeded to walk out his front door. But he remebered he was forgetting something, he hurried down the next flight of stairs and proceeded to the basement. He turned on the light and went toward his book shelf, then he pulled out a copy of his cats 101 11th edit on. As he pulled the book shelf creeked open revealing a secret room. The room was completely empty besides the large safe in the back of the room. George then put the3 digit combo 9-1-1. He the opened it and inside was a small black box. He took the box out and blew the dust off. "Good as new" he said to himself. Then he heard a voice come from behind him "what' this, what are you doing?" He turned around and a flood of guilt and fear poured over George like the ALS ice bucket challenge. It was like an avalanche of lies piled up over 14 years finally came toppleling down on him and it felt like he was being crushed. He had no response, all he could manage to say was "I did it". Their was a pause, and eerie silence filled the room. They stood their for quite a while before another word was spoken. "Why George. Why? Why would you keep this from me?" "I was afraid you would leave me, I had to." George responded. Then he said "I'm leaving, they know..." The room grew silent again. "Who knows George, who?!?" George turned and walked toward the stairs. "George!!! Answer me!!!" He kept walking then a hand grabbed him when he reached the top of the steps. He shoved it away then he heard a tumbling noise and a snap. He turned and quickly went down to the still body that lay at the bottom. He felt the neck, but no pulse. He sat still for a moment next to the body. Tears rushed down his face, but he knew their was nothing he could do. He wiped the tears from his eyes and walked upstairs. When he reached the first floor he heard a loud honk he then walked to the door and grabbed his belongings clutching the box tightly to his chest. He opened the door and slammed it behind him. Then he proceeded to walk to the black car awaiting him outside.George opened the car door, but as soon as he did he remembered he was forgetting yet another very important item. "Hold on, I'll be back in a sec." "Alright" a voice replied back. "Hurry up" it said as George ran to the the basement once again, he made his way to the bookshelf and grabbed the copy of cats 101 off the shelf. Then he went back upstairs and out to the car leaving his door wide open. "Did you get what you needed?" George turned to the drivers seat and replied. "Just drive Michael."
