I woke up at about nine and we were parked at a gas station, I reached in the back and grabbed a granola bar. Chance was filling up gas while JV was sleeping in the passenger seat. I plugged my phone in the car charger when Chance got back in the car I offered to drive so he can sleep, but JV woke up and got in the front before I could, so I let Chance lay in the back and I sat in the front. "Hey Chance were did you put that book you got from Alyssa's house?" He handed it to me and fell asleep. I read it, and it was a great book by Louis Huffington. It was about a boy who never felt he fit in so he tried to find where he belonged, but died before he could. The one thing that stood out was on the last page it said in Alyssa's handwriting, 'I don't want that to happen to me, I want to belong'. JV mumbled something, and I heard him but, I don't think he thought I heard him. He said, "She didn't take that with her, she always had her nose in that thing." I looked out the window and thought, in 8 hours I could find her, I would be considered a hero. People would know my name, and Alyssa Vancouver would thank me for helping her.
