A Fighter's Potential

The first day of prep school was today. I have to go to this prep school in order to advance into a fight school i want to get into. I'll bet the prep school will suck, but at least I only have to go for two trimesters.

"BROTHER!" Someone shreiked from down the hall. That was my sister, Yui, probably complaining about something in her closet. I walked down the hall, following the scream. I turned the corner to see my little sister almost in tears on the floor of her room.

"What happened this time, Yui?" I asked as she realized I was there. She sniffled and pointed her finger to the right.

"Brother, theres a monster in my closet!" I looked to where she pointed.

"Yui, that's your bathroom door." I did a facepalm in my mind.

"Brother! Look, there is actually a monster this time, look!" I looked again at her bathroom door again, but this time I saw my mom inside my sisters bathroom, dancing weirdly to music from her headphones. This time I actually facepalmed myself.

"That's mom, Yui. Not a monster." Yui's eye got big and she peeked her head inside the door.

"What happened to her? Is she ok?" Yui asked, still on the floor.

"Having kids changes a woman." I looked at my mom still dancing strangly.

"We did this to her?!" Yui's eye got bigger than ever and I sort of felt bad. "Mommy! Mommy! I''m sorry!" Yui started to tug on my moms pants. My mom noticed us and took out her headphones.

"Oh. Kids. I thought you were gone.Hehe." She rubbed her neck, embarassed.

"Anyway, I have to go to school. See on weekends, maybe." I started walking down the hall towards the front door to go to school.

"Wait," My mom started. "Weekend? What do you mean?"

"Oh! Didn't I mention, It's a boarding school!" I said happily. "Can you make sure you remember to send my stuff to my room?" I kept my back turned from my now stunned mom and little sister.

"No wonder the school admission cost so much." My mom snapped out of it. "Well good luck! Make sure to work hard, make friends, and have fun. I'll make sure to send your stuff. Bye." I made it to the front door and looked back down the hall to see my mom and little sister waving. I waved back.

"Find yourself a girlfriend while your at it!" My sister said with a smile.

"Yui!" My mom yelled. "Don't you say that..." I walked out the door into the cold. I saw my breath appear in the air. I started walking down the street towards the bus stop by our house. *sigh.* Again I saw my hot breath appear in the air. When I reached the bus stop, I realized I forgot to bring my gloves. I rubbed my hands together trying to generate warmth. It's so cold. I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder.

"You look cold. Did you bring gloves?" A girl with black hair asked with a smile. Her right eye was covered by her long bangs and her left was a dark navy blue.

"N-no" I stuttered from the cold.

"Here use these." She handed me some gloves. I looked down at them. They were simple black woolen gloves.

"But won't you need the..." I started as I looked up, but she was gone. "Hm... Weird." I said as the bus pulled up. I got on and paid for a ticket. I pulled out my iPod and played some of my favorite music. An hour had past when I looked up at the screen/sign at the front of the bus , ' NEXT STOP: Astrakane Institute of Preparation. Please prepare to stop '

As soon as the bus stopped, I got off and ran through the front gates and straight for the front desk.

"Hi, I'm Kaede Okazaki. I'm transferring into class 1-B. Can I have my locker combo and dorm number?" I asked the girl behind the desk.

"Um... Okazaki? It shows here that you are being transferred into class SP-K? I do have your lock..." I cut her off.

"No, I'm going into 1-B. Right?" I asked as I practically forced eye contact.

"R-right. I will get those..."

"So, you're Kaede Okazaki? Hmm..." I turned to see a guy with red hair and gold eyes smirk.

"Lisa, snap out of it! He is entering our class, SP-K, remember?" Another boy that looked identical to the one I was staring at stated.

"Thank you, Ren, I remember now. Here Mr. Okazaki." She handed me a folded slip of paper. "This is your locker combo and I'm sure Ran Ukataka here can show you to your dorm." She gestures to a red head slightly taller than the other two that had electrifying blue eyes.

"Sure thing Mrs. L! And please let us know when Hikaru Kirozuki arrives on campus, thanks." The taller one, Ran, smiled. They led me out of the front office. "These are my brothers, Rin," he gestured to one of the boys, "and Ren" the identical one popped up to the right of him, "they are twins."

"Yea, I can see that." I said, staring at the grinning twins. They gestured for me to follow and walked off. We walked across campus until we reached our destination, room SP-K.

"So, here y..." Ran begins. Suddenly I was body slammed by someone right as i enter the doorway. We both crashed onto the floor, the person was now on top of me.

"So, you're Kaede Okazaki?" The body asked. I looked up to see a girl. She had bright turquoise hair, and darker turquoise eyes. There was a feather in her hair and she had long elf ears. On her face she had what looked like tiger stripes across her cheeks. "Ren, you sure this guy is one of us?" The girl asked staring down on me. One of the twins nodded. "Put the mark." I see the girl coming at me with a weird looking pen. Before she could touch me I grabbed her shoulders and flung her off of me. She was now laying on the ground surprised and I stood up off the floor.

"What the heck? What do you mean the mark?!" I asked in horror. Everybody in the room looked sort of awkward, but the twins were simultaneously nodding there heads, knowingly.

"Like a tattoo." Rin states. The morning bell rang throughout the campus. That means I have a couple minutes before the bell rings again for classes to start. I stared at everybody and everybody started back. A bead of sweat ran down the side of my face.

"I... um... I'm gonna gooooo" I pointed awkwardly to the door then booked it down the hall trying to find my locker. I walked around a couple corners before I found locker 169. I put my books and thing I wouldn't need for my next class into my locker and headed back for the front office.

"There must be a mistake." I said the lady at the front desk. I looked at her trying to make the most convincing look.

"Yes. I believe there is......." she started.

"...not." A two familiar voices said behind me. "I believe there is... not a mistake." The twins said, restating her sentence.

"We will take" One twin began.

"it from here" The other concluded, finishing his brothers sentence.

"Ok boys, be nice to the new kid." The woman said totally oblivious that I was going to be kidnapped. The twins grabbed each of my arms and started dragging me out of the office.

"You silly boy. The bell is about to ring. You need to be in class." The twins smirked at each other in victory.

"You guys are really weird." I said as my feet practically dragged on the ground
