"We are Hiding Many Shadows Under Our Own Masks."
A group of the Caste Game organizers filled the front of the classroom. They all had bags over their heads. "Michiko Takahiro is the King." The Committee of the Caste Game announced as the class cheered. "For now. It's that time of the year again. Well, everyone in grade 3 room 2, we will decide on the new ranking order of your class." It was as if you can hear everyone's heartbeat stop, sweat drops formed on the students' faces.
"You all know the rules, just find a card that's anywhere in the school. Bring it back to the class room. No time limit. The larger the number on the card, the higher your rank is." Everyone's faces looked terrified, everyone except Michiko. She had a confident look, smirking as if she knew exactly where the highest card was.
"The Highest is the King, Lowest is The Joker. Anyone who chooses not to participate or disobeys the rule becomes an automatic 'target'. Now-" The man speaking paused, the sounds of chairs squeaking across the floor. Students started getting up, holding onto their seats.
The Committee members has bags over their faces, but you can clearly see them smirking. Behind those masks were dark, evil people. "Let the Game Begin." With that said all the students rushed out of the room, knocking each other down. They quickly swarmed the hallways, making their ways all around the school.
After all the ruckus Michiko finally got out of her seat, calmly walking down the stairs, thinking of a plan, and sighed. "You can smell the Desperation in the air. It's gross. They run like its on their lives." She then stopped, and snickered. "Well, It kinda does."
"O-Of course, I would go for the higher ranks myself, again.~" A student then came behind her smiling, it was Yua Chiharu. The Wannabe (Flatterer) of the King. She was flustered. "I want Michiko to notice me!" Yua was taller than Michiko by three inches. Her hair was a long, dark brown like Michiko's, but Yua's was always in a pony tail, while Michiko kept hers down. She was one of those well built, sporting girls.
The shorter female then had a plan. And draped her arm on the taller girl's shoulder. "Yua. Do you really like me that much?" The girl's face went bright red, and started to flail as Michiko locked her arms around her neck. "W-what?? I do like you! But I like you as in I admire you! Yeah, it's definitely not in a weird way!" Yua flustered.
Michiko raised an eyebrow. "Really?" She then pulled on Yua's tie, bringing her face close. "Then bring the card to me. Bring me KING." Yua's face was a whole different shade of crimson. "O-of course! But how?!"
Michiko huffed. "Why do you think you're so strong? There are lots of ways. Threatening or beating them for example?"
Yua burrowed her eyebrows. "Michiko.. Those things-"
She cut her off. "I'd say. If Someone is able to sacrifice for the person she loves, she'd be so cool that if it were me, I'd give anything to be with her." Michiko licked her lips as she said that.
Yua's burrow turned into a stern look, and her voice was stable. "I see." She pinned Michiko to the wall. "I will bring it to you, for you. I will bring you the card that suits you the most. Wait to hear the good news." A devilish smile slowly spread on Yua's face. She then let go, and set off on her prowl.
Michiko watched her go. She laughed. "Oh. How KIND of her.~ pfft.." There was a tap on her shoe. "Eh?" She looked behind her. A male student. He seemed a bit shaky and nervous. And who was it? The previous Joker, also known as "The Target".
"Fufu.~ Endou Arima." She lifted her foot, the 'Jack' card was under it. "Take it. I don't need that. Well done Endou-kun. You're finally not a target anymore." She pushed it towards him. "Here you go."
"T-thank you.." He quickly slid it from her foot, and started down the stairs.
"Oh, and Endou-Kun. Thanks for the
King last time." She smiled.
He frowned, and dashed away.
"Haha, he's such a doormat." Michiko flipped her hair, and started to walk to the classroom. "Maybe I'll just ambush people before they turn in their cards then.."
