Into the future

Time machines exist but like all other movies it's forbidden unless there are extreme circumstances. Such as preventing time travel.

Here it's forbidden to time travel because if you change the future you are charged with one of two sentences.
1.) murder for creating an 2nd universe that eventually is either absorbed back into the original universe, or absorbs the original universe.
In this case you create a copy of each and every person. when absorption occurs the universe goes back to having only one of every person. So essentially you create, then kill everyone.

Or the second option
2.) you are charged with changing the past, present, and future. Which is punished just as much as the first option.
There is a reasoning behind this harsh punishment:
One soul is given thousands of years to live. Unfortunately the body in which they live only last for at most a hundred years. When there body dies the soul is transmitted into another body. The early human species believed that people could meet in another lifetime. They, in fact, where right. Any way, if you went to the past and changed anything, that could unknowingly lengthen or shorten one humans, or soul container, would last a different amount of time. which would in turn effect who they meet when they where transmitted into the next body.
Let's say you go to ancient Egypt and kill a peasant. That peasants soul would then transmit to the next body, which would supposedly be the next emperor. That person then doesn't become emperor because its previous life didn't talk to the previous emperor, causing the peasants daughter to marry into the royal family.
So you changed the future by trying to rush the past.

This is just the simple rules of what this story would have to follow.
