A small cheerful boy named John, almost 14, wore a jacket with jeans and a hoodie in his black tennis shoes to school. So far nothing out of the ordinary until he stumbled upon his clumsily tied laces and fell on an unsuspecting young girl. This girl was shocked at first but in the eyes of John she was beautiful and vibrant in her appearance and personality. This was the first time little John felt that special feeling we know as "love".
Being the gentleman John was taught to be he helped the young lady with her things, apologised, and walked her to class.
At lunch that day he spoke about this girl with his friends, who he knew had more of the dating experience.
"Just ask her out dude." Said Cole, the chill laid back player of the group.
"I don't know how to ask her.." John replied, being the shy quiet one that he was.
"Just go up to her lean against the wall and say "Hey babe. Me. You. Date. Now"" Cole encouraged.
"No!" Cassidy spoke out.
"Don't listen to him John every girl wants to be treated with respect and swept off her feet by a nice romantic guy."
As soon as Cassidy was finished John's Crush walked by their table and sat by herself in the back. Cole and Cassidy immediately knew it was her by how John's gaze followed where she went.
"Just go do it man!" Cole told him.
"I..um.." John nervously spoke, stuttering across his words embarrassed.
"If you don't ask her I will for you." Cole threatened.
"No no no! I-I'll do it!" He gave in, standing up and nervously walking to the back until he was standing next to her.
With one huge gulp of his throat he asked her.
"Will you go out with me?"
There was a pause between the two. The young girl looked up at him, with a frown, and stood up as well.
"Go out with YOU?" She questioned quite clearly.
"I..I.." John went into sudden shock from her tone.
"Why the hell would I want to go out with YOU? I hardly even know you! And YOU have the nerve to ask ME out?!" The lunchroom was dead silent.
As everyone listened in on what was taking place the only thing that was heard in this long silence was the cracking of little John's heart.
"I..I'm sorry..I.." His eyes swelled up at the utter humiliation and began to tear up.
"Why would I EVER go out with a little nobody loser like YOU?"
John had had enough. He ran as fast as he could out the lunchroom and to one of his classrooms where he cried in the corner of the room.
