John had just turned 15 and he was ready for the world as a spirited teenager. As a teenager with a big heart it was hard to tell if he actually liked someone or if his hormones were tricking him. Eager to find a girl suitable for his kind heart he used that heart as his guide.
You see, John had a unique gift that allowed him to see the good in people just by seeing them.
He looked and looked until he found the girl for him. Her name was Taylor Tromper a very hippie french girl.
Having more confidence in himself this time around he sat at her table during lunch and talked to her. He easily got to know Taylor as he could tell she was also interested in him.
Finally, before it was too late, he asked her if she wanted to be his girlfriend. And she agreed.
Four months of dating is a long time for freshmen in High School to date one person. Taylor was completely happy with her relationship with John but John's feelings and plans for the future got a head of him and he began to talk about having a family and getting married to her, which she was not fond of.
One day shortly after a happy John walked to Taylor's house with a boquet of flowers to surprise her. Before knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell John noticed the blinds on the window were up and he peeked inside.
John was suddenly struck with dispair and a broken heart. His brow sweaty and his eyes teary he dropped the flowers and clutched his fists.
In the living room through that window he saw his girlfriend and love Taylor on top of another boy enjoying their make-out session.
Angrily, and rightly so, John wammed his fist onto the door not saying a word. When the door opened Taylor saw his pain wrecked face and knew he saw what had happened.
Before she could defend herself John stopped her.
"Save it." He said, you could hear how he was holding back his anger.
"Who the fuck is this babe?" Were the words that came out of the other guy's mouth. But when John looked to see the guy's face he realised it wasn't a guy. It was a girl. John became even more hurt and confused.
And he simply ran away.
At school for years he was teased and mocked by everyone for Taylor cheating on him with another girl.
"You turned her gay"
"Are you a lesbian too?"
And many more were said.
And everytime he thought about it his heart cracked even more as he began to blame himself for what had happened.

And he still does.
