Maxie's POV
Gabriel didn't know what was happening. He was only one. He just learned how to and talk. "Dada!" he says. It was the only word he knew how to say. Dad was hugging Gabriel. No one had the heart to tell him what had happened. That his dad was dead. Orion. He loved Gabriel to pieces. We were trying to hold it together. Trying not to let Gabriel know what happened.
"Dada!" Gabriel said again, this time crying, as if he knows what happened. We will have to tell him eventually. He misses his dad. Just as I miss my mum and my dad misses Phyllis. Gabriel has already lost one parent, Peter, who died about a year ago.
We had to tell him. "Dada!" he said again. Tiffany volunteered to tell Gabriel what happened. Not exactly what happened, he can learn that as he gets older, but that Orion has gone to a better place and all that stuff.
THREE DAYS LATER
The funeral started. My dad and brothers and sisters sat in the front row. We gave Gabriel his bottle. He was sat in dads lap. Dad crying. So was Tiffany. Frankie. Tobias. And myself. So was Gabriel. He didn't know exactly what had happened, but he knew his dad was gone and he wouldn't see him for a very, very long time.
It was hard to sit through the funeral. He wa- is my brother and will always be, even though he is gone. I love him. We all do. I don't know what is going to happen to Gabriel. That poor boy. He has lost both his dads. He is only one and has been through more than he should have to in a life time.
The funeral was finally over. Me, my siblings and Dad said our goodbyes before we did the march to the grave yard with his coffin. It ripped my heart out to see my family I so much pain. We were always the quintuplets. Now we are only four out of the five. There is a big gaping hole in our family that will never be filled.
Gabriel is left in my care now. I already have a daughter, Alyssa, who is six months old, so it will be easiest for me to raise him with her. My wife, Cat and I will raise them together. I love her to bits.
