She was alone. Abandoned. No one could hear her cries nor her screams. She could walk for miles and somehow she always ended up at the same old broken down house. That place put such a damper on her, but it was the only place she knew. That and a field she would lay in and just imagine being in a place where she wasn't alone anymore.

She opened her eyes to the chirping of the birds and the buzzing of the bees (for a warzone that place was in pretty good shape). She stared into the clear blue sky and watched the clouds go by slowly. She tried to make shapes of the clouds and smiled when she saw a cloud shaped like a witch on a broomstick. She turned to her side to see something running in the distance. She sat up and saw it was a man running from two other men. By the time the man ran passed where she was laying, she was already gone.

He ran through the forest and saw a girl running ahead of him. He followed her and came up to an old broken down house. He searched for the girl outside of the house quickly, but couldn't find her anywhere. He heard the two other men coming and ripped off the board from the nearest window and crawled through it. He walked around the house slowly, hoping to not make any noise while the other men walked around outside. He stumbled over a stool and made a loud crash when he hit the floor. The men heard the loud crash and crawled quickly through the window he did and he ran upstairs as fast as he could, looking for a place to hide. He found one room with only a bed in it. He heard the men coming up the stairs and plopped into his stomach and slid under the bed. "Please don't hurt me," He turned his head quickly and saw a girl, the same girl he saw running in the forest. "I'm not going to hurt you..." He whispered in a soft voice. They heard the men walk into the room and the girl whimpered. He put his hand over her mouth and whispered with his finger over his lips, "But they will." The girl stayed quiet after that.

The men walked around the room, not bothering to look in any closest or under the bed they were hiding under. "He's gone, let's go," one of them said. They walked back down stairs and as he heard them crawl out the window, he let out a heavy sigh and let go of the girls mouth. She crawled out from under the bed quickly and he followed her, "where are you going?" "I don't want them coming back in," she grabbed the board from outside and put back on the window. "I think it's best you stay here for a while," she turned around and he had a gun pointed at her. "What the fuck?!" "How do I know you are not with them?" he asked. She frowned and shook her head. "You led me here... In the forest, you were the girl who was running ahead of me and I followed you here." "It's not my fault you followed me!" "Why were you in the forest? And why are you here alone in a place like this?!" "I was abandoned.." she mumbled. "What?" "I WAS ABANDONED!" She yelled. "Why?..." he asked. "I don't know, why don't you go look for my parents and ask them..." He put the gun down and sat at the table in guilt for pointing the gun at her like that, "they just left you here like that?" She sat across from him, "I was always the black sheep in the family, you know? I wasn't what everyone wanted me to be. Everything I did was wrong to them. I couldn't be who I wanted to be or who I really was. And one night a war broke down near the house, you could hear people screaming and guns firing. It was a horrible thing to listen to... I didn't think it at  the time that my family would leave... and the next morning, they were just gone..."
