The hunt: A destiny story

Prologue

Have you heard about a tale that have been told for so many years? The legend of the five warriors that fought the fallen for a day without rest before dying,giving humans in the area to leave to a safe place,only one of them survived and warned the humans about the fallen,and the tale goes like this

I looked around as i saw all my squad members die one after another,only me and the captain were the survivors

ME:"It was an honor serving under your command captain"

Cap:"You're not gonna die on my watch,Go now"

Me:"No,i'm gonna stay here and die with you,just like Amy, Jeff and Mary did"

Cap:"That's an order,i won't let my best friend die in an already lost battle,and don't let the sacrifices of our friends be in vain,go and join the elders in their escape"

me:"did you really have to pull out the 'that's an order' thing,and Ok i'm gonna join them,see you on the other side my friend"

Cap:"good luck soldier,now go,go and tell them about our story,tell them how we died in honor to protect them,let us be remembered as the warriors who faced the fallen for a day"

just as the Cap finished those words,he gave me one of his rare broken smiles,i guess seeing our teammates and childhood friends die,he must have been in grief,but then i looked into his eyes and saw a look of wanting to kill that guy,it was the second time i saw it the first time was when he was nearly going to kill a bully at our school,after that he made us a promise of holding this feeling,so his broken smile wasn't only because of grief but because he failed to honor his promise

As i left Jack to prevent him some time,i remembered how it all went down this day

*Flashback*

Me:"Jeff&Jack did you find anything unusual?"

J&J:"No cap,what about you Amy?"

Amy:"nothing in my range,Mary what about you anything in your way?"

Mary:"Nothing"

Me:"Ok let's regroup back at the tower"

as we arrived all to the tower,something was in the sky,it apparently wasn't one of ours but i asked Mary if it was just to make sure

Me:"Mary is that one ours?"

Mary:"dunno sir,it's too far away for me to know"

Me:"let's wait for it to land then we will go and see if it's ours or not"

Amy:"guys i have a bad feeling about this"

J&J:"don't worry,if we stay together there's no need to worry"

*15 minutes later*

Mary:"Cap,it's not ours neither it is from earth"

Cap:"stay focused,it could be anything,remove the safety lock on your guns now"

All:"Alright cap"

we headed to the spaceship,and found nothing,but just as we were going back we were ambushed

Me:"Shit,it's the Fallen"

we already knew about the Fallen before but we thought they were legends that they were extinct

Me:"Fall back now,we gotta find a safe place"

As we fought through the Fallen we went to a cavern that we discovered long ago no one could ever find it cause it was cloaked the good thing was that it was in a strategic position and it was wise of me to stock ammos in there,i putted enough for our crew to last two days and we made also an escape hatch if we would've ever be found out
