In my story we have different ranks to a typical pack... They however might be a bit different to what you imagine. So here is a description down below...
Alpha: The Alpha (and his Luna or Alpha Female) oversees leadership of the pack as a whole. In my story, Alpha's are not a born rite of passage but something that was earned. Just like in the wild, only the strong can lead the pack.
Beta: Are the second in command and the one the Alpha trusts above all others, and will take control if the Alpha is incapacitated or has to leave the territory. In my story, the beta is chosen by the Alpha. Once again it's not a birth right; it is who the current Alpha feels is more suitable for the spot
Gamma: is the third in command and the Military leader of the pack, aka the head/lead warrior. They are in charge of the Epsilons rank.
Delta : is the fourth in command and like the other members above his/her rank, they should be able to take care of the pack if something happens to the higher ranks. The Delta's tend to be the voice of the pack, as they are the closest in rank to the rest of the pack and are able to problem solve minor to intermediate problems within the pack that do not require the higher up attention.
Epsilon: These are the warriors of the pack, proven for their strength and skill; there can be as many as twenty or more, depending on pack size. However this honor is usually only bestowed on those pack members who are older and more experienced. Epsilons are expected to be able to combat, protect the pack, and kill on command. Although one would compare an Epsilon to Rouges, Epsilon have a strict military disposition in their combat and even if one was to go berserk, they are able to pull back upon the higher up orders.
Zeta: The Elders of the pack.
Iota: Proven and loyal members who had an exceptional history with the pack or who have done something that benefits the pack health, wellness, and overall success. Their roles can go from Pack Doctor, Librarian, Pack Historian, or even Teachers.
Kappa/Pack Members: Though the term Kappa, has not been used in over a century, Kappa's are consider to be your typical Pack Members.
Omega: If there is an Alpha, then there is an Omega. The beginning to the end or the final development to a pack. Omega's are at a position of being socially shunned, though there offense was not large enough to call for banishment or death, they must have done something to gain the pack's disdain. They're forced to eat last at meals, and many of the other werewolves will take out their frustrations on the omega. But in my story, an Omega is a suppressed Alpha or a one way ticket to becoming a bloodthirsty wolf. The higher ranks, keep the Omega's barely alive because they are risk to the current order of the top 4 tier. If they allowed an Omega to roam freely, the Rank for any of the current top 4 can change depending on what the Omega desires
Now that the jest of things have been said or done, lets get to crafting an unbelievably awesome story.
