Hey guys! I'm Kylie, welcome to the wonderful,emotion roller coaster of a book.

This book is about a young girl named Astrid. Now, Astrid goes through a lot of physical and emotional pain. I advise that if you aren't comfortable with that, I wouldn't read this book. But, I can't control if you read or not.

  I'm also a newbie writer; there will be mistakes, words that don't fit in sentences, and multiple spelling errors. I may catch them before a part is posted but I'm only human.

Let's get into it!

The foggiest morning of the year 2007 in the small town of OakWood. Oak wood's surrounding forest, The Broken Oak, cuts the rising sun's rays. The sun have risen just enough to make the sky dance with a bright pink shimmers. This morning didn't feel like the others; it felt happier. The citizens of OakWood had a sense of peace and calmness. All expect the household of The Sterlings;

The mother had been missing for 5 hours.

It was rare for Mrs. Ambrose Sterling to leave the house at 12:47 am. She worked in a local diner, Greg's Diner, which was off main and 2nd. When the police department asked her coworkers and boss, she had been there for her shift which usually started right after her daughter got out of school; 3:45.

Mr. Markus Sterling, the husband, said that she had to leave for an emergency. He stated that she had taken her cherry red 1994 F150 truck to take care of the emergency. The police had found her truck, locked, on the side of the road next to the Broken Oak forest.

  Mr.Sterling had denied the fact that she went into the forest at such a late hour. He claimed that Ambrose would never go into the woods without him or her family. Mr.Sterling denied the questions about Mrs.Sterling's mental health, which only made more questions arise.

None of the police informed Mrs.Sterling's little girl what was happening. Astrid Sterling was a beaming 7 year old. She loved going to school, seeing her friends, learning how to spell and how to paint. She also loved after school. Everyday her mother would pick her up from the elementary school's playground. She would take her daughter to work with her on the shift she would always take, the one right after Astrid would get out of school.

  Mrs.Sterling and her daughter would always take orders and wait the customers together. Everyday, Mrs.Sterling would tie a tiny apron around her daughter. Astrid even had her own pad to take orders in. It was big for Astrid's little hands, the pad was the same size as her mother's.

  Mrs.Sterling's case met the maximum days of searching. The sheriff has informed Mr.Sterling that his wife was presumed dead. The Sterling's household was never the same. A man without his soul mate, a daughter without a strong, female role model.
