Running. Running with every ounce of strength I had still wasn't enough to get me away from this creepy ass man POWER WALKING towards me. Now if I couldn't out run him when he just fucking walked I was doomed. Each step he seemed to get closer while I grew more and more out of breath. If I had just stuck to my gym membership I would have actually stood a chance.
My lungs burned and my mouth tasted of iron. I could still hear him walking behind me, he was getting closer and I couldn't give up. If I survived this I was never taking walks at night ever again! And if I do I will bring my stupid phone or a weapon at least.
My pace started to slow down, my legs felt like melting gelatinous sacks. I did what all stupid girls in horror films I turned around to see how far away my possible killer was. It slowed me down even more taking my run down to a light jog. The bulky figure continued at his even pace catching up to me in long strides.
"Fuck!" My body couldn't take it anymore. I stopped and turned straight to my stalker. "Listen big guy I don't know what you want but could you like I don't know stop?" In ragged breathes I can feel my statement fall into the "defiantly not" category of things he's going to do.
He stopped about ten feet away from me. He just stood there which made me angrier than it should have. "Hey fuck head we going to fight or are you leaving me alone?" A cool breeze hit my exposed shoulders making me shiver slightly. If he hadn't wanted to kill me before he was defiantly thinking about doing it now.
A second passed before a low growl emanated from him. My heart rate spiked with his animalistic growl that had me taking a step back and him taking a step forward. I took in deep breathes until my breathing was back to normal. Once I could breath I shot off away from him.
I didn't know where to go since I just moved here a week ago and then decided to follow a bunny into an area filled with trees. It looked like a small tree filled area but now it seems to be a fucking forest which is fucking fantastic. That stupid fluffy rabbit just had to get my attention didn't it. Ugh! Strangers smangers bunnies are the true predators in this world. With their cute fluggyness and wiggling noses.
My little burst of energy didn't last long though and before I knew it I was stopping again. I heard the man stop as well. I checked to see where he stopped exactly and this time it was five feet too close for comfort. Actually a million feet was still too close for comfort.
The moonlight did nothing to help me see what he looked like. There were too many shadows casted but all I knew was he was tall. He was even taller than me and that's saying something since I was five ten. He had to be at least six inches taller than I was, at least.
"Buddy as much as I need this workout do you think you could just stop following me?" My breathing was all over the place.
Like before he just stood and stared. This was what horror films lived for. A girl that couldn't get away from a mysterious stalker turned psycho killer. Running again wasn't an option so it looked like defense was my only chance of possible survival. Flight instinct used up so now it was time to fight.
I took a step closer to him to gauge his reaction which surprise surprise was nothing. I took one more step creating a nice distance for me to lunge at him. With weak legs I propelled myself towards him hoping to tackle down this man, that was twice my size, to the ground.
Instead of falling to the ground in agony like I had hoped he would, he only took a step back. I quickly punched his stomach, nothing. I kept on hitting him but nothing worked. All he did was growl. My arms were beginning to feel like lead. I had to back away before I was completely drained of all energy.
He didn't like me backing away from. His hands shot out to my wrists burning my skin and jolting them back to life. I tugged away but all he did was growl louder. Now say I have death wish or what you will but I brought my knee right to his balls. When he curled over I knew I had a chance to run. I had no time to rejoice in my below the belt attack.
I ran the direction in which I came hoping I could get out of this maze of trees. Problem was that at night everything looked the same! I was so screwed. My cat was going to be so mad if I didn't come home to feed her. That fat ass wouldn't care that I was dead only that her food dish was empty.
A thunderous growl tore through the trees making me slow down for some unknown reason. Logic kicked back in and I continued to run, my legs pumping to get me out of here. I didn't hear the man and nor did I care to check. I couldn't waste time. I had to look straight ahead, push myself farther.
Trees blurred as the moon made its way to the top of the sky looking down at me mockingly. Soon my run turned into a walk of heavy steps. I had accepted my fate that tonight I wasn't making it home. Hell I don't think I was ever going to make it out of here.
Scanning my surrounding for any predators like luring bunnies or buff men I deemed my area safe enough when no such creatures were in view. Some trees had low enough branches for me to climb but I was too weak to climb. Instead I broke a branch off and searched for I sharp stone. I needed some form of a weapon even if it was a stick as useless as I was.
Playing warriors with my siblings were going to come in handy tonight. I sharpened the end of the branch to a nice point and stuck it into the ground like a pungi stick. I broke off more branches and made more pungi sticks. This used up my remanding energy. My back was against the tree and all of that sharp stick stuck up from the ground as some sort of protection, I started to drift off.
Sleep came fast and my exhausted body thanked the break from real life. Sleep was my body's savior but maybe my life's doom.
