Coming too I felt like I had the biggest f*&king hangover of my life, and of course immediately the pain in my shoulder was jogging my memory of events.

A Taser...who in their f*&king right mind would use a Taser on a guy my size and expect to live? I ate that sh*& for breakfast! The academy had had us go through that at least once in order to advertise safe use! That sh*& had to have been modified!

Previous day; after school –

Thank f$%k it's Friday was all I could think, as we trailed our way across the now mostly empty student parking lot.

While it hadn't been that long since school had let out, a lot of students had either rushed out as a mas tide of overly exited teens, eager to get started on their weekend plans, or just hadn't shown up to school at all that day.

Honestly the attendance at this pathetic excuse for a school was atrocious, it was a wonder anyone learnt anything.

Afternoon sun spilled out across the near empty parking lot as my brothers and I headed across the pot-holed lot, toward where victors grey BMW and my black jeep were sitting. We all had a minor academy job to do tonight; minor in that it wasn't very dangerous or important, but it did need all hands on deck, as it was a rather large area we were sweeping for bugs.

The plan was to have Dr. Green and Mr. B drop Sang home and meet us at the rendezvous point.

I just couldn't keep the uncharacteristic grin off my face, despite the crappy school, and the sh*ty students, f$#k even the teachers were against us here! But just the reminder of what awaited us when we got back from the job tonight?

Or should I say whom? I swear the fact that Sang baby didn't even know she did this to us made her all the more adorable! I felt the grin widen impossibly and I snort at myself, catching and sharing a look with Silas, who I have no doubt knows exactly what's going through my head right now; the f*#ker.

I feel the phone vibrate and alert in my pocket just as we reach the cars, the sound echoed six times. The hell?!

Lifting my phone I read the alert for a team redline from Mr. Blackborne, this and the supplied GPS coordinates. From the looks of it he's in the teachers parking lot behind the gym, across on the other side of the school. I look to Kota for commands, as obviously this threat is something none of us saw coming, and to have Mr. Blackborne calling for help from the entire family meant he felt himself extremely out matched or caught off guard.

It was about then that the dawning look of horror on Kota's face was registering, and my mind started floundering at the implications. Turning to Silas for a hint, I noted the blood draining from his face, and his eyes widening to their limits, mimicking Kota's in their cathartic expression. It was about then that my brain caught up and my own sense of chilling fear swept my body; who was traveling home with Mr. B and Dr. Green tonight?!

It didn't even register that I was moving as I shot like a bullet across the parking lot, hitting the sidewalk at a furious pace, gaining in speed. The only things getting through to me was the fasted route to the teachers parking lot, and the vague recognition of my brothers feet slapping the side walk, keeping pace not far behind me.

Finally reaching and passing the science block that was the final obstacle that stood like a guard between us and the gym; the school seemed eerily deserted, not a single student or teacher spotted between us and our destination.

Rounding the furthest corner of the red brick building my mad dash ended suddenly as I franticly scanned the second, smaller parking lot for a sign of any of my three missing family members.

I could hear my brothers fanning out behind me, impatience and fear like a drug spreading through our group. There was only a single car in the lot, Mr. B's grey BMW and even from this distance I could see it stood disturbingly untouched. No Mr. Blackborne, no Doc, and definitely no Sang baby.

Out of nowhere there was a sharp pain in the back of my left shoulder blade, the electric nerve pulses sending me to my knees, and then to the ground, convulsing and grunting under the sudden pain. The last thing I hear before passing out is the sounds of my brothers' groans and frenzied struggles.

****

Waking up had been a bitch, but waking up in a locked, dark room, your wrist anchored to the wall by a leather, seemingly unbreakable cuff, with all your brothers spread in various states of health around the room. Yeah that was bad, but to make matters worse, the love of my life is apparently somewhere in this room, and is no longer responding...F*$king s*#t!
