Sometimes I wish that he would just notice me. It’s like I’m not pretty enough for him or something.  His words catch my attention from where I lounge on the couch.

Those words are familiar; I had written them just yesterday. I snap my head around to look where he stands with my journal in his hands. “Cole! Give me that!” I jump off the back of the couch but fall on my face when my foot gets caught on the edge.

He laughs and flips the page to keep reading as I pick myself up. “Mom called today… Chevy wouldn’t talk to her though, as usual. She really misses us but dad would never let us see her.”

“I’m serious Cole! That’s private!” I run towards him and snatch the book out of his hands. “You’re such a dick!” I run down the stairs to my room in the basement and slam the door shut so he can hear.

I hear footsteps follow to my door and then stop. “You should keep your diary in a better hiding spot Toyota. Really, your underwear drawer? Kind of typical, even for you.”

My mouth drops into an o shape. “Why were you looking in my underwear drawer anyway you… perv!”

I hear his light chuckle on the other side of the door. “Just curious.” I listen as he walks back upstairs to my brother’s room, his best friend.

I bang my head on the door. “Ugh!” I place the journal under my mattress and flop onto my bed, closing my eyes.

My name’s Toyota, as in the car. My brother’s name is Chevrolet, also as in the car. Let’s just say that our parents weren’t really ready to have a kid, let alone twins. And him? Well he’s Cole, my brother’s ass of a best friend. Not that he matters.
