I was sitting at my favorite table in Starbucks, the one in the very back where no one could see what I was doing. My headphones were in as I listened to our last song recording. By ‘our’ I mean me and Cameron’s, my friend and band member. We had a small band called Nameless. Ironic, huh?
Anyway, back to Starbucks. I was listening to the song when my phone started to ring, and I recognized it instantly. It was my brother.
“Leah!” he yelled through the phone, “It’s been ages! What’s up?”
I sighed, massaging my temples as a headache began to take form. “Nothing much. I finally moved out of the house.”
“Leah.”
“Fine. I finally got kicked out of the house. But it’s not all bad, I’m at Cameron’s a lot.”
Suddenly, he screamed. “THAT’S WHAT I WANTED TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT I JUST REMEMBERED.”
“BRO. SHUT IT.”
He started laughing like a little girl. “But you have to know! I showed your songs to the other boys, and to Si! They love it!”
My heart nearly stopped as I slowly closed my computer, straightening up a little bit. “What?”
“Simon wants you on the label!”
Head spinning, I gripped the table in front of me, spilling my tea. “Are you serious?”
“Totally serious! We’re coming to meet you guys in a few days! We’ll see you then!” He hung up.
I let out a shaky breath, sitting back in the booth. I guess this was one of the perks of being Louis Tomlinson’s sister.
