Chapter Two
Nick had just got in the plane to return to New York. It was a miracle he had found an empty seat in first class since he had booked his ticket unexpectedly. Holly and Jared had gotten married the afternoon after his talk with Anna and there weren't any other reasons for him to extend his stay in Vegas. He had exchanged information with Anna even when he had hit on a problem while doing so. The woman didn't possess a cell phone. Yes, a cell phone. She had said something about how she didn't need one but he had made her buy one. Otherwise, he wouldn't have a way to contact her since she didn't have a stable address too.
He shook his head in disbelief as he put his seatbelt on. Who hadn't a cell phone in this century? It amazed him, really, how could she be that way. Apart from their time in the bar, they hadn't talked to each other but he had spied on her at the wedding. Well, not spy on her but his gaze always seemed to land on her. In that short amount of time he had learnt a few things about Anna, his new wife.
She squealed in delight too much when it came to Holly, maybe it was because of the wedding though, she loved to dance like a crazy person although she looked more like a crazy monkey. The woman couldn't dance to save her life. She also smiled and laughed more than a normal person did, making him think about the possibility of her being on the happy pill? It was a possibility. He had also noticed how she had known every person in that damn wedding when he only knew Holly, Jared and Jared's parents. So, she was a social butterfly. She had definitely gone to table after table when the ceremony was over and the real party had started.
During dinner, he had sat on a corner, watching her and the other guests, playing what few games he had on his cell phone to keep busy and from growing bored, something he found very hard to avoid.
Monica would socialize as much as Anna did. Although Monica would make simple and polite conversation, keeping it short, not lingering at each person for more than half an hour and laugh the entire time loud enough to receive stares from the other tables.
He closed his eyes tightly, emptying his head from thoughts of Anna and spent the rest of the flight finding refuge in sleeping.

Airports irritated him. He didn't care as much about the noise as for the people hugging each other and crying as if they had lost their loved ones to death. He didn't like emotions, or any kind of displayed affection. Waiting for his small black suitcase to appear, he kept his eyes fixed on the platform with the moving luggage, trying to think about the work that waited for him back at the office. He had to call the CEO of 'Alice' hotel to give him the new designs for the suites he had asked for and meet personally with the owner of the bank to-
"Nick! NICK!" He saw people staring around them to find the source of the yelling that was meant to be heard by him before he turned around to find out himself. He first saw two hands, waving at him in a crazy dance in the air before lowering his eyes to meet those of Anna's. Her brown hair was a mess as she was running, yes, running to him with the same smile he had gotten used to from the first time he had met her, plastered on her face.
She was wearing another long hideous skirt in the color of bright yellow, a color impossible not to notice and a black shirt with long shelves. It was spring, yet the weather wasn't ideal in New York. She also had a long scarf around her neck. From what he saw it was colorful, not matching the rest of her outfit.
She reached him while people kept staring at them. He felt embarrassment filling him. He could only imagine how they looked to an outsider. The crazy woman who looked like she was homeless high on drugs and the normal business man in the suit. Two completely different worlds.
