Author's Notes: I know, I've been MIA for far too long and I apologize. While I wish I could say it's been completely all work related and other important responsibilities that have kept me from returning to this project, in truth, I hit a bit of a rough patch and felt unmotivated to write much of anything.

Partially due to my muse/inspiration bouncing around like crazy from project to project but admittedly getting distracted with various video games that have been on my radar for a long while. Ranging from Final Fantasy VII Remake/Intergrade, Marvel's Spider-Man, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core Reunion, Persona 5 Royal Edition, and Hogwarts Legacy, all of which have birthed additional plot bunnies I have kept locked up in a cage. And of course, I am still addicted to the Legend of Heroes games, which that has a massive plot bunny all on its own ready to burst from its cage.

And lastly, I got Baldur's Gate 3 for my birthday awhile back, and everyone knows how addictive that game can be.

Now fortunately, I haven't been just sitting around and doing nothing in regard to this story and others. As I have been taking notes of plot points, I intend to explore in each of my works. I just hope all of it was worth the long wait.

Kin Tsuchi never considered herself a superstitious person that believed in bad omens, but everything about her team's latest mission just gave her a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach as she watched over the large mound of dirt that created a protective shell around her team's target. Their initial orders before entering the village were to keep an eye on one Sasuke Uchiha, though for what reason they were never told. Only to keep an eye on the young teenager and evaluate his performance. So far, she had not seen anything worthy of note.

Admittedly the teenage raven-haired boy was ahead of most of his peers, no doubt thanks to his clan's extensive library filled with jutsu and other techniques, both original and copied from enemy shinobi. Nothing really stood out as truly remarkable that would garner Orochimaru's attention. Not like the snake bastard ever filled them in on what he was planning. No one, with the exception of Kabuto, was aware of what the disgraced sannin was planning.

Not even his elite guard the Sound Four that her best friend and sister-like figure was part of, formerly known as the Sound Five.

Now, not even a full twenty-four hours ago, her team had been given a new mission. Track down and eliminate not just Sasuke Uchiha, but also his pink haired teammate Sakura Haruno. It was this reason that the black-haired Oto kunoichi had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach.
