Most people have celebrities as characters for their stories so I'm going to start doing that.

I woke up the next morning to my mom shaking me awake.
"What time is it?" I groaned, sitting up.
"6:45. Sable, I can't find your father."
"What?"
"I've looked everywhere and I cant find him! His car is gone too!" She said practically yelling.
"This can't be happening." Tears started falling down my cheeks. We woke up my two sisters and by 8 we were all crying. I found a crumbled piece of paper on the floor of my mom's tent. I smoothed it out on the floor.

Dear Melanie,
I'm sorry I can't stay with you. I received an email saying that my business needs me to move to Canada and my flight leaves tonight. They paid for my ticket and I have to pack now. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you in person but they needed me right away. I love you all so much and I'll miss you.

I handed the letter to my mom and she cried even harder. She decided it would be best if we left that night so I went to tell Josh. I figured he'd be at the basketball court so I ran the whole way there, but I had no luck. I walked to the lake, nothing. I finally went to the icecream parlor to find him ordering icecream. I ran up to him and gave him a hug. He adjusted to where I was hugging his side andhe looked at me. He looked back up the man and ordered a sundae with it. He payed for it and handed me the sundae.
"Thank you," I whispered. We sat on the porch outside of the icecream place and ate our icecream.
"What's wrong?" He said.
"My dad left while we were asleep to go to war."
"So it's just you, your mom, and your sisters?"
"Yeah. We're leaving for home tonight though so I wanted to spend one last day with you."
"Hey I know you're upset but all week I wanted to ask you something but I didn't want you to think I'm weird. So- um- will you be my girlfriend?" I started feeling dizzy and I didn't know what to say. I couldn't get any words out of my mouth. I leaned towards him and kissed him. It was the best kiss I've ever had, even though it was only my 3rd kiss ever. I know im 16 and my first kiss was about a week ago. I pulled away and his face was bright red.
"Is that a yes?"
"No I kissed you because I have a boyfriend." He smiled realizing my sarcasm. "Goodbye Josh."
"Goodbye."
