"I don't know Love, it just seems so weird. Like when me and her had our first conversation, I could tell she really didn't know what to make of the situation. Like she was hesitant for real, but it's almost like she's on the attack when it comes to you. Like...maybe she thinks this some sick Brown Sugar type shit that's going on." Onyx said and Aries immediately laughed. "This ain't that though. Like it's never been. I'm sure we all have that one friend that we went through most things with throughout our lives. Tony, just was the only one I ever had up until out parents got stationed elsewhere. Nothing more, nothing less." I defended. "I hear you, because that's normal to have that. And I don't think it's uncommon for there to be male/female friendships like that. However, from the outside looking in, it has to be insecurity." Araya said quickly and I looked at her. "Don't get me wrong on the exterior she seems really confident, but I can see the lil girl screaming on the inside." she said. "What Araya means is it's like she's confident when it's time to be out loud and proud. However, behind closed doors, you don't know what wars she's waging. I mean I know Iris had said shorty had a fucked up upbringing and she's from like Orange County? I mean that sounds almost unheard of from those types. She might walk and talk it to us and really searching for approval. Like she always wears big name everything, she brags often...sounds like insecure to me." Aries said to try to elaborate on Araya's statement. "Not to mention, look at you. I would be a little worried if someone as cold as you was my man's righthand. I mean he's handsome and you're beautiful. I get her issue." Depth said. "But then it doesn't make sense, because wouldn't she feel that way about Onyx?" I said. "I'll take this one. Girl...she's unphased by me because to people like her, I'm just a fat bitch." We all just immediately laughed. "I'm saying though people like her are used to High Value Men, so most people believe one of high value would never want someone overweight. In her mind, I'm already beneath her." Onyx said nonchalantly. "She might be right, but we are in the south. The men here love the extra meat. Plus you know you're Big Sexy my baby." Araya said to her. "Ohhh stooopppppp." Onyx said back to Araya. "No for real though, you're gorgeous still. So I feel like it should work both ways. I mean if she's looking at me crazy when it comes to Tony, then shouldn't Onyx be the opp too? Like you're threatened by me with man 1, but you're the side for man 2." I said and they laughed. "I think you're thinking about it too complicatedly. Listen, call that damn girl and y'all just hash it out like adults for real because this is crazy as hell." Depth said. "Can't. I keep telling her to keep it real and she doesn't." I said with a shrug. "Listen, sis cool and all but fuck her! Just keep doing you. We all know it's Kev and only Kev when it comes to you. Let a mufucka believe whatever narrative helps them sleep at night. If she has to pretend you're the bad guy to rationalize her own shit, then be the villain in her story. Fuck it! But live your life, don't even keep corrupting your good energy with that negative shit. Or just write a song...I don't know." Aries said. "Okay! Baby might deserve some head for that one." Araya said and we all instantly laughed. "She's right though. I mean she might be my sister wife, but my loyalty is to you mama. Just know you'll never be the topic as long as I'm present." Onyx said as she hugged me. "Aww see there is Love in Hip Hop." Cinco said as he walked into the studio. We all just laughed at this dude, but he looked clean now. "What's good lil bro? You back?" I asked him as he walked over and hugged each of us. "Yes ma'am. 30 days clean and ready for what's to come." he said proudly! "Okay then! So we hitting the booth today?" Aries said to him. "You know I'm always down to get in the booth with you." he said. "Boy...you better watch how you talk to me." Aries said and we all laughed as we caught the movie reference when she said it. Chick goofy as hell. "I didn't mean it like that. Y'all know Keyz will surely kill me." he said. "You worried about Keyz or Kev?" Onyx asked and he laughed. "Listen...you kno..." "Neither! He's worried about me. You can't ever figure out where you stand with the quiet ones." I said and I gave him the craziest side eye. "Yeah...you just might be the problem." he said with a laugh. "Let's hit booth 3 before Killa D surfaces." Aries said as she hopped up and her, Depth, Araya, and Cinco slid to the other room. "And then there were 2." I said as I turned to Onyx. "Let me holla at you about something." she said as she sat down at the piano next to me. "You ever begin to question if your newfound celebrity status if just off of your talent alone or if it's connected to Kev's fanbase?" she asked me. "Honestly, I never really thought about that part. Like I guess our genres are different so I didn't think to ques...wait. I know that's not you questioning." I said to her. "Girl...listen. I've always had my own fanbase because I appealed to a particular audience and now that it's more wide...I'm wondering if some are only following me on the strength of him." "I don't think you should even ponder that. You're so dope. And I think more people are just getting hipped to you. You were once the social media masked rapper and now they get to see you. I don't think it's because of him, you just have greater exposure now." I told her and she looked in my eyes and smiled. "Thanks! I needed to hear that."
