"...I'm sorry but I didn't mean to make you fall..." -Alissa Clover, The white clover

Chapter One

"I think it's beautiful how my life keeps getting worse..." James Hunter sighed and covered his face with his hands, he was alone but the wine bottle was keeping him company. The skyline window showed all of New York City, so the view cost more then this penthouse. Taking another sip from the bottle he noticed it was empty and he stood frowning.

"Could it be that I have grown in the steps of bad luck? That my mother was the only luck I had and she dead right when I was born? My father was raised in the teaching of bad luck and so he never cared! So who am I to have all this money and a high tech job, but almost every week I mess up hugely!" James walked towards the kitchen and threw away the bottle, he only drank when he messed up huge in work. James heard the door unlock and in walked Adam Gates, his best friend that was his room mate. Adam was gay so when he walked through the door, so did his boyfriend.

"Hey!" Adam said walking down the two steps into the living room.

"Hey." James replied and sighed loudly, Adam's boyfriend sat down on the sofa and began texting.

"Have you been drinking again?" Adam amused as he walked into the kitchen, his blue eyes looking around the kitchen. James shrugged and slashed his face with water from the sink, he never lied to Adam because he trusted him but the fact that today he lied was big. Adam frowned, rolling his eyes.

"Is there one day? One day you could go meet a beautiful lady and have a family other then me? You really need to stop the whole bad luck thing!" Adam exclaimed as he opened the wine drawer to see only white left. James smiled but suddenly he tripped on something and his hand was crushed by the impacted.

"I will always have bad luck, I was almost fired for messing up on numbers... What makes you think I am gonna find the one?" Adam and James has always talked about this but Adam never understood about the bad luck. His father was a bad luck charm but his mother wasn't one and that is why got them a child. But that came with a price, that their son will also be bad luck. Something him and his father could relate too, since the fact she was died for birthing him. Adam pulled out white wine and three glass cups, but James didn't want to drink anymore unless his life was that idiotic.

"Karen and me are going to get married!" Adam announced as his boyfriend, Karen, was next to him smiling. James sighed and took a drink, his gay friend is getting married but he is still single. Adam kissed Karen's lips quickly and then took some wine.

"Congratulations you two!" James spoke with sarcasm and walked away, he didn't look back but he could see Adam's face, hurt and worried. James Hunter will always be alone, that is what he was taught... No girl would ever want him, unless blinded. Once in his room, James went straight to the bathroom. The only place he could think was the the shower, the hot water lightly touched his skin and he began thinking about the numbers he messed up on. A slight knock was on the bathroom door and James shook his head.

"Go away Adam!" James shouted and turned off the shower wrapping the towel around his waist.

"James can we talk? Karen left for work and its been two hours since you were in there!" James opened the door and Adam smirked but James just went straight to his closet.

"Match.com" Adam called and James eyes widen, he was not going on a dating website! James shook his head as a chuckle left his lips.

"Please try it! Karen and me are worried! You are still young, twenty five, yet with no girlfriend?" Adam sounded like he was giving a speech but Adam shook his head.

"I'm not desperate for a relationship, if I could ever get luck then... I can get a girlfriend! As simple as that." James dressed in his boxers and laid down on his bed, Adams sat on the bed and sighed.
