The Box
"Ding Dong!" Johnny jumped off the couch and ran to the door, he opened it and frowned in despair. It was a dark brown box that had a label that said: "FRAGILE". The parcel was for his Uncle Joe.
Mum said that uncle Joe was expecting a parcel, so Johnny took it to his uncle. Before Johnny left, he took a little peak inside and saw a blue transparent diamond. Johnny's eyes lit up and he thought how much it cost. He walked slowly to his uncle's house staring at the "FRAGILE" sticker on the box and wondering why his uncle needs a precious expensive diamond, then suddenly he felt his foot stuck on a tree root fell forward and smashed the diamond. His hands were clutched to his face and his mouth was open wide. Johnny saw the pieces scattered all over the pavement and picked them up. He thought about how much trouble he was going to get into.
Johnny knocked on the door. His heart was pounding and his face went red with guilt. Joe opened the door with a smile on his face because he hadn't seen his nephew in a month. Then Johnny muttered, "I'm really sorry, but I smashed your diamond", and held out the box in front of him. There was a pause.
Uncle Joe burst out laughing and said, "Have you read the label?" Johnny looked at the label that said: "3-D diamond puzzle". Johnny face palmed himself and laughed too. The End
