Hi.
If you are against trans people the Fuck off. Just don't read this one then.

Btw he's like 6 here

Percy's at his school's back to school night, and he's the only kid there, because his mom couldn't find a sitter in time.

So he has to sit in the corner by himself.

He looks over at his mom, talking to his teacher, and he feels like crying, because she already decided he was a delinquent, and was probably telling his mom about how she doesn't tolerate kids like that. Kids like him.

Sally catches Percy's eye, and smiles apologetically.

Percy looks over at his mom as she looks back at the teacher. She's wearing a nice dress, and her hair is nicely curled. And seeing her looks so nice makes Percy feel just a little bit higher in that moment.

Percy eyes skim the room again, and land on this woman, sitting at a table, by herself. She looks nice, and has long hair that goes down her front. She's wearing a pretty fiery dress, and a beautiful shiny necklace. She's pretty, but not in the way that most people here usually are. She's pretty the way poorer people usually are. She's got her hand pressed to her face, and looks just as bored as Percy feels.

Percy walks over to her, and says, "That's a beautiful necklace."

She reaches up to touch the said necklace. "Thank you." She says, smiling at him.

Percy nods. "Can I try it on?"

The woman looks at him in surprise, and Percy's heart sinks. "Are you kidding?!" She says, and Percy's eyes burn a little with tears he's trying to force back.

"This is a very expensive necklace, and my mother would kill me if I let it out of my grasp." She smiles. "But I've got a bunch of other ones in my car."

Percy knows she's a stranger, and he knows this is New York, and she could be a kidnapper, but he goes with her anyway.

She just feels safe.
Like his mother.

On the way out of the classroom, the lady catches Sally's eye, and Sally smiles. She knows this woman. Percy doesn't see this.

They go out to the parking lot to the woman's trunk (Hestia. She would say. Just call her Hestia.) which was filled with necklaces, bracelets, rings, head chains, the works.

Hestia tries a few on, showing them off.

"How do I look?"

Percy giggled. "You look like a princess."

"And you're the prince."

Percy's eyes narrow.
"I'm the queen."

Hestia nods. "Yes, my queen." She smiles.

They try on all the jewelry, laughing and twirling until Sally comes to bring Percy home.

"Always be sure of who you are, Percy Jackson." Hestia whispered to the sleeping child on her shoulder, as she passed him off to his mother.

Ok now he's twelve but you could have figured that out.

There are sticks in his hair, and blood on his sleeves, but Percy doesn't notice; instead, he's looking at this blue glow above him.

Campers are falling to their knees, and it only takes a moment for Percy to realize what's happening.

Time slows down, and his heart sinks, because he knows Chiron has to say son or daughter and Percy is worried. Chiron knows Percy, and even though he always used he and him in classroom, there was always that look in his eye, like, I know.

"All hail Perseus Jackson," Chiron says, and Percy's heart is beating out of his chest. "heir to Poseidon, God of the seas." Percy's hear lifts with the corners of his mouth.

Percy's never felt as relived as he did now.
****************
They're all new to this, and  Percy knows this. That's why he's not blowing up every time one of them asks a question, and believe me, there were a lot of questions.

"So you like gender neutral pronouns, but on certain days he and him are okay, right?"
"Yeah"
---

"They, their, and them, right?"
"Yeah."
---
"Being gender-fluid is just feeling normal?"
"Yeah, Hazel."
"Sorry. It's just different than the 40's."
"I know Hazel."
---
"Seaweed Brain, what are you today?"
"I'm a boy today."
"He/him?"
"I was thinking 'your highness.' "
"Stupid."
"That works too."

"Gaea only needs one drop of male and female blood, so we all need to be on high alert." Annabeth says, and in this moment, with her jaw set, posture straight, and hair thrown into a messy ponytail, Percy can see just how beautiful she is.

"Wait, if Percy isn't just one gender, does that mean that he's both?" Leo smirks. Percy knows he's joking, but it's not funny.

"Don't be an ass, Valdez." And Hazel gets to smack him, because she's the one sitting next to him.
----
But, it ends up being true, because when Percy gets a nose bleed. (Really, a nose bleed.)

One drop of blood. One drop and the ground starts shaking. Percy's throat is constricting and Percy's doing all they can trying not to cry.

In the corner of Percy's eye, Leo's shoving Piper, with a smirk on his face.
************************
After the battle, everyone is sitting on the beach, and Percy is next to Annabeth, with Grover and Rachel sitting sitting next to her.

Percy notices Annabeth staring.

"What?"

"Nothing. You're just beautiful."
"I don't know if I should consider that a neutral word or not."

"Shut up."
Annabeth smacked her datemate.

Hey, so what'd you think of that?

I hope it was good.
