Chapter 2: Screaming
Narrator:
It’s two in the morning when Little K starts screaming in her sleep.
Baby monitor:
(little K screaming in her sleep)
Matt:
What is that screaming?
Kristen:
Sounds like it’s coming from little K.
Matt:
Want me to check on her?
Kristen:
No, I will.
Narrator:
Kristen walk to Little K room to see if little k is okay.
Little K:
(screaming)
Kristen:
Little k…..Little K….Little K.
Little K:
(finally wakes up) Mommy?
Kristen:
Are you okay?
Little K:
I had bad dreams.
Kristen:
You want to come sleep with me and daddy?
Little K:
Yeah!
Narrator:
Kristen picks up little K and takes her down stairs to get a bottle then gose back upstairs to her room.
Matt:
What is she doing in here?
Kristen:
She had a bad dream.
Matt:
So put her back in her bed.
Kristen:
Sorry both you and I have to work tomorrow. I need my sleep, I don’t want ot listen to her scream all night, I’m pretty sure you don’t ether.
Matt:
Fine!
Narrator:
It’s now six in the morning and Kristen has to work.
Kristen:
Matt?
Matt:
(still asleep) Mmm?
Kristen:
You want me to take little K to her bed now?
Matt:
Please.
Narrator:
Kristen picks up Little K out of her bed and takes her to her own bed, then leaves for work. At nine in the morning Matt is up and downstairs in the living room when he hears someone else come down the stairs.
Little K:
Good morning daddy!
Matt:
Who let you out of your bed?
Little K:
I let myself out!
Matt:
You mean to tell me, you climbed out of your crib all by yourself with no help.
Little K:
No help!
Narrator:
Later that day Kristen beats Matt home.
Alex:
Hi Kristen….
Kristen:
Alex.
Alex:
I thought Matt would be home first.
Kristen:
Normally, yes. Today, no.
Alex:
Why?
Kristen:
I got off work early today.
Alex:
Okay, well I’m going to go now.
Kristen:
Alex!
Alex:
What?
Kristen:
I haven’t forgot.
Narrator: Matt comes home about a half an hour later.
Kristen:
Hey.
Matt:
You didn’t kill my sister did you?
Kristen:
As much as I wanted to…no I didn’t kill her...yet.
Little K:
(coming downstairs)
Matt:
Did you put Little k in her crib when you got home?
Kristen:
I did, why?
Matt:
Well she is out and right behind you.
Kristen:
(looks behind her) Little K!
Little K:
Yes mommy.
Kristen:
How did you get out of your crib?
Matt:
Probably the same way she did this morning.
Kristen:
How would that be?
Little K:
Climbing!
Kristen:
You climbed out of your crib by yourself?
Little K:
Yes I did!
Kristen:
Honey, you know what this means right?
Matt:
What?
Kristen:
It’s time to get her a toddle bed.
Narrator:
On Saturday Kristen and Matt go to a furniture store while Alex watched Little K.
Kristen:
This bed is perfect.
