I woke up on a fine summers morning as the bright sun beamed through my curtains. Realising it was one day before the Academy, I jumped up straight away and grabbed my old rough jodhpurs and a polo T-shirt, I pulled some riding socks on and raced downstairs to begin my day of stressing. As my parents were at work and all that, I grabbed myself an already made sandwich whilst putting my stable muck boots on.
Heading outside I could hear the neighing of comet and cracker, eager to be put out in their pastures. Walking towards their stables, I grabbed comet's white rope head collar, unlocking his stable door. Grabbing his forelock, I weaves his headlock onto his large, but cute face and tied it at the side, very tightly. Leading him out to the field, I unlocked the stable door and slid it open freely so cracker would just follow,(as for them being best friends).
I unlocked the metal gate of the round pasture and let comet loose and shooed cracker near comet so I could fasten the gate up. I began my chores around the yard, mucking out, cleaning tack, putting shavings down etc. After about 2 hours of my daily difficulties, I fetched the horses in to nibble on their freshly made soaked Haynets. Giving comet a thorough brush down, I rugged him up in his clean rug ready for tomorrow morning. I tacked up cracker in his all mint green tack and headed out to the outdoor arena. I wonder if he would behave today.
