Zoey and Amy were on their way to
"Caffe et Croissants" when Zoey asked,
"So what school do you go to?" As they sat down at a table,
"I'm home-schooled actually. What about you?" Amy asked, taking a bite of some cinnamon toast,
"I go to Aurbendy high," Zoey replied.
Amy looked up,
"You must have a lot of friends there, right?" Zoey sighed,
"Not really, I did have a few friends. But they kinda left..." Amy just sat there, not looking at Zoey. There was silence. Zoey finished her food ,
"So. Thanks for hanging out with me." Amy nodded,
"Anytime. Here's my number," Amy handed over her phone to Zoey.

Zoey typed in her number on Amy's phone as well.

"I'll see you around, Amy." Zoey said walking down the street, Amy smiled and waved,

"You too!"

Sunday was kind of a a blur for Zoey. All she did was read the books she borrowed, but the down side was, none of the books had any real information about Karman. Zoey was bummed. So she decided to take a nap. She was awoken by a very hungry looking Flambo,

"Din?" Zoey knew that meant Dinner.

"Ok, i'll go see if it's ready." She said walking down stairs, Flambo cheered.

When Zoey came back upstairs, she was holding two small bowls of rice.

"Here you go bud." and she ate her own.

Zoey turned on her laptop with Flambo on her lap,
"Hey, Bud. Let's watch someth-" Suddenly the power shut off.
"Hang on, I got this." Zoey assured her pet as he shivered.
She held her hands out and threw some tiny flames around the house.

"Oh, thank you sweetie, I was just about to dig around for the candles," Thanked her mum.
Jake ran down the stairs,
"Hey what happened?" He asked Zoey looking really annoyed.

Zoey glared back at him,

"How about you go outside and check the fuse box?" She said sassily.
Before something happened, their mum stepped in,

"How about Flambo and I check?" She said calling the fire cat to the door.

"Let's see what all this trouble is about."

Mrs Croft and Flambo ducked around the side of the house to where the fuse box was.

"Let's take a lookie here," She opened the hatch.

To her surprise the wires for the whole house had been cut.
"Zoey, come out here." She yelled. Zoey came running in an instant,

"What is it?" She asked, her mum stepped aside,
"How good is your magic? I need you to fix these wires, some young hooligan cut them."
Zoey looked at her mum,

"I'll try," Zoey held her hands over the cut wires and thought of them back together.

When she took her hands away, they were!

"I did it! Yes! Go Me!" Zoey laughed, and she and her mum went inside with Flambo.

Little did they know, it wasn't some young kids. It was Merida.

"Damn, she is getting stronger, Dylan. You need to stop her!" Merida slammed her hand on the tree branch,
Dylan looked at the ground,

"Why can't you just do it? You have actual magic." Merida looked annoyed,

"Because, Dylan.. If I go for her now, she could just take my powers away. We need to wait until my powers are strong enough, but you need to make sure she stops going to those classes. Her powers must not grow!" Merida said,

"Muahahaha" She laughed evilly.

"Come on Flambo, let's watch something." Zoey ran upstairs and turned on the light,
"I'm going to find something new to watch..." She logged into her laptop went onto 'Netflix' but she couldn't read anything,

"That's weird, everything is blurry," She said confused, Flambo went over to see,
"No. Thing. Not. Blur." He said sitting down.

"I'm going to talk to mum." And she went to tell the story to her mother,

"I'll take you to get your eyes checked in the morning after school. For now maybe just sleep." Mrs Croft assured.

Zoey slumped back upstairs and into her pajamas.

"Come on Flambo, time for bed." She said, placing Flambo into his little bed.

As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was asleep.

Zoey's alarm went off at 7:20 Monday morning,

"Ugh, why do I have to go to school?" She looked out the window,
"The weather is terrible!" It was raining heavily outside.

Zoey put on her regular uniform, with stockings and a grey jumper. She went downstairs for breakfast. Mrs Croft was already in the kitchen,

"Do you want a ride to school?" She asked, Zoey smiled,

"Yes! Please!?" She begged,
"Ok, go annoy your father until he agrees then." She laughed.

Zoey smirked,
"Har har har." She ate some toast and packed her bag,

"Come on dad! You have to drive me and Jake to school!" Zoey yelled up the stairs,
"Jake! Hurry up or we leave you here!" The two quickly came downstairs, and they were off to school.

"No friends, and terrible weather. The universe loves me!" Zoey said sarcastically to Flambo.

"But I'll live!" She said waking inside.
The day went by pretty quick, and the rain had died down. Zoey was just about to get in her mum's car when Luke walked up to her.
"What do you want?" She said, annoyed.

"Listen, Zoey. You need to stop all of this!" He said. Zoey was confused,

"Stop what?" Luke stared at her,

"We all know you aren't magic, stop lying to everyone. Magic isn't real, and you're just a boring old shit!" Luke said loudly.
Loud enough Flambo could hear from inside Zoey's bag. He flew out and straight into Luke's face. "Zoey. Not. Shit. Zoey. Best. Friend. And. Nice! You! You. Are. Real. Shit!" Flambo yelled.
Zoey laughed,

"How's that for magic!?" She and Flambo went into Mrs Croft's car, to the optometrist.

"Hello there, Zoey I presume?" asked a male doctor.

"I'm Dr Malcolm. Please take a seat." He gestured to a chair.

Dr Malcolm took Zoey through some tests.

"We're all done here, you definitely need glasses, but not permanently, just for work and stuff, you know?" Zoey nodded.
"Good, you may now look at some different patterns for you glasses while your mum pays." Mrs Croft nodded.

So many choices, purple, blue, pink, flowers, frogs....THOSE! They're perfect.

"Mum, I want these ones," Zoey pulled off a case.
It was totally purple with little white flames around.

"Maybe glasses won't be such a bad thing"
