Morgan's POV:
Harry nodded and we started walking forward, not really knowing which way to go. After walking for about ten or fifteen minutes in an awkward silence it started to rain. Please don't storm, please don't storm I kept on thinking in my head. I hate storms. They completely, and utterly scare me. But sure enough a loud roar thunder boomed, followed by a bright flash of lightening. I tensed up and my breath hitched in my throat. I'm terrified.
“Trust me I don't wanna be out here in the woods with you either, but you could at least talk to me and stop ignoring me.” Harry said in an irritated voice. I'd been so scared I didn't even hear him talk to me.
“Harry I'm scared.” I managed to say.
“Well if a bigfoot comes I'm sorry but I'm tripping you.” He laughed.
“I'm serious Harry.” I said looking in his eyes. Another loud boom of thunder sounded and I closed my eyes tightly shut in fear. When I opened my eyes I saw Harry reaching his hand out for me to take. I accepted the comforting gesture and we continued to walk. As another round of thunder sounded Harry started to gently rub his thumb over my hand to try and comfort me. I couldn't help the butterflees that erupted in my stomach. He just has that effect on me still I guess. It helped a lot and I smiled at him.
“Thanks Harry.”
“You have really pretty eyes.” He randomly commented.
“Thanks you too.” I laughed.
“My eyes are not pretty. They're handsome.” He joked.
“Yes Harry because eyes can be handsome.” I laughed.
“But I'm serious. They're really pretty.
“Thanks..”
“You're really pretty.”
“Are you drunk or something?”
“I didn't drink tonight, remember.”
“Oh.. right.” I awkwardly said not really knowing what else to say.
“Oh right.” He jokingly mocked me. “Is that all you have to say about that?”
“I don't know what to say.” I admitted.
“Listen I need to tell you something Morgan..” Harry trailed off as he stopped.
“Okay..”
“Here we go, okay. Well first of all I would like to say I'm sorry.. for everything.” He started, still gently rubbing my hand.
“It's okay Har--”
“I'm not finished.” He cut me off. “Anyways.. I just.. I can't seem to get you out of my head. I can't stop thinking about you. I can deny it all I want but the truth is I like you Morgan. I really, really like you.”
I just stood there in shock for a minute, letting his words sink in. I like you Morgan. I really, really like you. As if I wasn't already in a furious state of anxiety with this storm, my heart is now pounding even more rapidly. My eyes flicked up to Harry's face quickly. He was looking at me, searching my face for some sort of response. I quickly looked back down, and I noticed that his thumb was no longer rubbing my hand. I think he was just about as scared as I was.
“Please say something..”
I tried to put together a coherent sentence but nothing. I was speechless.
“Okay... wow I'm so embarrassed.” He mumbled. “Let's just forget that I said that, yeah?” He said as he turned to walk away. I tightened my grip on his hand, stopping him.
