"Is-is she dead?"

"Nah, but pretty close."

"What do we do?" "Do I get Mama and Papa?"

"Ezra?" "They will personally kill her!"

"Why would they do that?" "She is just a girl."

"No, Ezra most girls don't have tails and fuzzy ears."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am Cotton. Cotton Lee Jones. I have lived in this little town in the middle of no where for all my life. Nothing exciting had ever happened in my sixteen years until I met her. It was Honey that changed my life forever. Even at times if I miss my old, normal life I can't go back now.

My little brother Ezra, seven, has been my closest companion out here. I feel as if it's my job to protect him from all harm. Probably because my older brother Harlow died when I was about nine. He was my hero and the men who brutally murdered him never thought about who would be left weeping when they killed him. Ever since his murder things have changed. Dad is a wortheless drunk. Mom is emotionally wrecked. I have to take charge and pull things together.

"Cotton? Theo ran up into the hay field and I need you to help me find him!"

"Damn dog." I muttered under my breath. It was better if Ezra didn't take up my bad habits so young.

"Alright then, let's go."

Ezra lead the way up the hill and onto the flat plains of hay. It went on for miles I was sure. "See him Cott?" Ezra muttered. "Sorry pal, no sign. We ain't walking these fields you know?"

I proceeded to give him a long speech about Theo will come back when I was interupted. "Theo! There he is!" Ezra and I both raced over.

Ezra screamed.

My mouth gaped open.

In the hay lay a young girl. Her hair was to her waist and had an auburn tint to it. Her long legs were toned and pardon me, um she had a nice chest.

Besides her nice features something else stood out.

This girl had a wolf tail and big fuzzy brown ears.

Ezra and I discussed what to do when she started whimpering.

Her body shifted and I stood like a statue. Not daring to breathe.

Before I ever had a chance to blink, she flung herself up. Face to face with me. Her eyes were ghostly blue and her lips in a childish pout.

I couldn't drift from her gaze. It seemed so unreal. I must have been so vulnerable. She snarled and I saw her canine teeth.

I fell backwards as she seductively pushed me. This wolf girl was on top of me her tail flicking back and forth. Her lips got real close to mine and I could feel her hot breath. Her sharp clawed hand trailed up my arm to my face.

"You must excuse me" Wolf Girl said in a real husky voice. "I am a very curious girl."

The wolf stood up and gracefully ran off. Neither me or little Ezra chased. Better she be gone.

"Cotton?"

"Yes?"

"Wasn't that the demon from the story?"
