Yes. I was. I just had to see her again, to figure out her intentions. What she was, why she was here.

I looked in the mirror and sighed.

"Cotton, your going to get hurt. She is a demon for God's sake!" I told myself.

I ran a hand through my blonde hair and closed my deep blue eyes for a second.

Putting a flannel on and my boots I snuck past Mom's room. The sound of her muffled cries shrouded my footsteps. Little Ezra curled up in bed slept peacefully. Dad was snoring like a freight train on the couch. I went and turned off the black and white television. We have enough bills to pay. No need to raise the electricity bill. I glanced around. This little house falling apart just like us. I pitied myself and Ezra being raised to fail.

The sky seemed to have gotten even darker now. I slowly crawled up the hill. My luck seemed to diminish as I saw no sign of her. Then I heard a voice. Faint, but still there. Carefully, I tracked up the hill in stealth mode.

Wolf girl was spinning in circles and talking to herself. A child she seemed like, just spinning. I stared for a while. At one point I laughed at her childish behavior. Time froze. She stopped in her tracks and surveyed all around her. Quiet again, then she spoke. "I know your out here."

I put a hand over my mouth.

She was still looking in all directions. I was here that much she was sure of. What direction I was in was a different question.

I thought out my choices. While she was still looking I could run if I was quick enough. Too late. Her body darted in my direction. A shrill laugh escaped her mouth.

My instincts activated and I ran towards the house. She kept up in no time at all. Swiftly she jumped on my back and forced me to the ground. I rolled over and proceeded to push her off. No such luck.

Here I was, after midnight on the ground with some crazy wolf chick on top of me. What would Harlow say? I couldn't imagine.

This wolf tilted her head back and forth. Her hands traced practically every part of my body! Little dog noises from her were the only sounds within miles. It wouldn't be smart to try and overthrow her again. Maybe she wouldn't hurt me if I stood so still and quiet. The whole scene was a wolf playing with the prey. The prey being me of course.

"You and I are much alike sir," Wolf giggled.

"No, no we are not!" I managed to squeal those few words out.

Her face screamed confusion.

"What do you mean? We have eyes, a nose, legs, arms, and ears!" She yelled.

"No. My ears aren't fuzzy and HUGE like yours." Surprisingly I was starting to lose fear.

"Well, no two ears look alike on anybody mister." I wish she would quit calling me mister. We looked the same age...

This girl was right! She seemed so horrifying five minutes ago. Now she talked like a human and acted like one despite her super human strength. What she said was also right to. No two people look alike. She was just more different, I guess.

She stood up. I laid there. "Aren't you going to say something?" she asked.

I shrugged.

"Did I scare you to death?"

"Something like that," I replied.

Her hand extended outward. Warily I took the offer. She practically lifted me into the air she was that strong! "Thanks," I muttered. A smile stretched across her face. Showing off rows of canine teeth. I grimaced. Embarrassed she looked down.

"Are-are you like a mutant?"

At that she smacked me hard across the face!

All girls were the same.

I winced but took it like a man would. I mean I did deserve it after all.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Of course you did. Everyone does," was her reply. Her tail went between her legs and her ears folded downward. "Just don't worry about it."

"If you don't mind my asking then, what are you?" My voice seemed to get softer and softer.

"I am a girl." She hissed.

"Oh." I replied. "What's your name?"

She thought for a second then laughed, "I don't have one."

"What do you mean?! Everyone has a name."

Again, she laughed. "But I'm not everyone!" She was right.

"Are you dangerous?"

A sly smile appeared. "Just don't piss me off, okay?"

I nodded my head quickly.

"How old are you?"

"Eh, around 200 or 250. Who's counting?"

"That's impossible," I said.

One word told me she wasn't joking, "Ha!"

A howl rang out from behind her. Maybe a mile or so away.

"I have to go."

Before I could say bye she was gone. I ran back to the house and locked myself in my room.

"What just happened?" I kept racking my brain trying to figure it out. Did I make friends with her? Will I ever see her again? Will she kill me? Is she really a demon? Did that howl mean she wasn't the only one?

Too many question flooded my mind. I tried my hardest to stay awake. No use, I collapsed into dream world when the sun just started to come out.
