Hello friends! It's been a while, but I hope you're all doing well! Before I say anything else, I would just like to say thank you so much for continuing to give Astrid Lancaster your love. It means the world to me to see how much her story resonates with you all. Truly, I giggle every time I see a new reaction from you readers as you navigate the pages through the ups and downs of her life. And don't worry, there's still plenty more to come from Astrid. But today, I'm stepping into a new corner of The Walking Dead universe.
I'm thrilled to introduce my newest story: "Holding On."
Before you scroll on and immediately lose interest, I want to state that this isn't just another apocalyptic fanfic. It's a coming-of-age journey told through the eyes of Sage Dixon, a stubborn, angry, thirteen-year-old girl who's navigating survival, identity, loss, and so, so much more, all while dealing with the end of the world—and the end of her family as she's known it. There's also a Carl Grimes subplot woven throughout (slow, slow burn, of course), but at its heart, this is Sage's story as she grows up through the years.
Here's a little backstory. I originally wrote this story a long time ago, but it never felt finished. I was never fully happy with it. Like my Survive series, it's now in the process of being rewritten and rebuilt from the ground up. In many ways, Sage feels like a new character, but for those who knew her before, I promise her heart and soul remain the same.
So, without further ado, after weeks of writing, rewriting, and immersing myself in this world again, I'm so proud (and a little nervous) to finally share it with you. This story is gritty, funny, tragic, heartwarming, violent at times, and deeply personal. If you loved Astrid and Daryl, I think you'll love Sage and Carl, too.
I'd be incredibly grateful if you hopped over to my profile, gave it a read, shared your thoughts, and left it some love. Every comment, reaction, and bit of support helps this story grow and means more than I can say.
Thank you, always.
