She stands there,
Eyes wide in fear,
Blood dripping from her nose.
He had hit her.
She knew it was coming,
She knew it long ago,
But still she stayed;
Knowing she was doomed.
Love is cruel.
He had just proven that,
By leaving her there,
Cold and alone.
She was afraid,
Afraid of being alone.
Now she has no choice
As she slowly crumples
In a heap on the floor.
Her love has gone.
Taking her heart with him.
Now she sits alone,
In the darkness,
Wishing he would return.
