I'd heard the song before. It was alright, but I couldn't really relate to the lyrics. If had been on the radio, I might have switched the station, but Vic had me enthralled, his flawless voice filling the room easily, making my heart beat faster. Oh, I would have begged on my knees to hear him sing like that, so full of emotion, yet so guarded at the same time. He eyes met mine several times, his gorgeous smile appearing every single time he did. Oh, wow, I was falling way too fast.

The room went silent soon after he strummed his last chord. I broke the tangible silence, as well as my trance, by clapping once, twice, slowly being joined by my other classmates and finally Mr. Gee, the applause quickly turning into an uproarious pandemonium. Vic's darker complection quickly turned a lovely shade of pink as he stood, set the guitar on the seat behind him, and sprinted back to me at the back of the room. He stood beside me and smiled widely, bouncing on his toes slightly. Damn it, he was cute when he was happy.

"Holy shit, Vic." I said, standing up as the uproar died down. His smile faded and he bit his lip.

"Not okay?" My tone must have been harsher than I intended. Damn, I didn't mean to scare him at all.

"Very okay, Vic. You were... Flawless." His smile might have been the horizon for how wide it was. If it was the horizon, I might have had to get someone to bring it to me. He threw his arms around me, catching me off guard. My heart sped up at his touch, even one so platonic as a celebratory hug, and I hoped to whatever god there was that he couldn't hear it. He pulled away, still beaming like a fool, and I knew I was too. Mr. Gee finally found his voice and spoke.

"Well, Kellin, you have some very formidable competition." He said. When I turned to look at him, I found that his normally glassy gaze was actually clear for once. I smiled at him, earning a small smile back. Vic stepped closer to me and I felt his fingers against my palm. I looked at him sharply, accidentally causing him to shrink back. I looked back at Mr. Gee and laughed.

"Next Friday, karaoke-off." I said, shooting him with a finger gun and sitting down, looking Vic. He tentatively sat next to me, his hands in his lap, one if them visibly shaking. I felt so bad, I scared him and probably ruined every damn chance I had with him. Mr. Gee began droning on about music theory and other things I should have been taking notes on, but I was too lost in my pity-party to pay attention. As soon as the bell rang, I collected my shit and looked at Vic, waiting until he was close enough to brush my hand against his, looking at him. He looked up at me, his eyes first confused and then completely elated as he laced our fingers together. We strode into the hallway, but I already had a plan. I took off at a dead run, towing Vic behind me and pushing unceremoniously through the masses of sweaty so-Cal teenagers. I couldn't last another second in this hole.

We burst out into the less crowded, but equally hot, air and stopped, his fingers still tangled with mine. I looked around, cursing my poor planning and started to walk, hoping that Mr. Fer-Shizzle, er, Fercella, wasn't out and about. He was our principal, but he tried too hard to make everything be exciting. He also was strictly against students, mainly me, leaving campus. As we neared the street, I could feel Vic tugging at my arm. I stopped and turned around, looking at him expectantly.

"Uh, Kells, we still have two more classes." He said, looking back at the highschool. I scoffed.

"Not today. I can't stand that fucking pit." I responded, waiting for his response. Suddenly he flushed, his skin turning that amazingly cute pink colour as he parted his lips slightly. He wiggled his fingers out of mine and looked at the ground, clearing his throat. I smiled and took a step backwards, smiling wider as he followed me. I turned around, letting one arm hang at my side. I could have died right then and there, and I would have died happy.
