Josh burst out of Elmwood High School's mint green front doors, and started running down the path towards the parking lot. He is carrying an orange Jansport backpack on his back, hanging off his left shoulder.
He slows down near the end of the school's driveway, and looks behind him. He has tears rushing down his face, he uses his long black hoodie's sleeve to wipe them away.
He stops crying and stares at the door, until a tall, very attractive boy, with dirty blonde hair, a blue oversized t-shirt, some black skinnies and Vans comes out of the school, yelling Josh's name.
"Josh!" he calls 3 times to no response.
Finally Josh yells back,
"What do you want, Ryan?! Can't you tell I don't want anything to do with you?" Josh said, angrily.
"I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you.. And I know I fucked up. Big-time. But I love you. You know that? Right?.."
He says, tears starting to come out of his eyes. He is devastated, totally broken, and Josh can tell.
"I know... I just can't. I'm so fucking done. And I just don't want to do this anymore. Baby, I just wanna be alone. I want you, I love you, I do, but I can't. For a while. I fucking can't!"
Josh screams, falling to the floor and starts panicking and breathing heavily in the middle of the grass near the road where he walked to. Josh mumbles a few words, as Ryan approaches him. Ryan sits next to Josh, and holds him. Tight.
"I promise you, I am not gonna leave you. Ever. Babe, I swear. It'll be okay."
