Maya Hart didn't want to believe this moment was happening. She didn't want this moment to happen, but it did. Here she was at her boyfriend, Lucas Friar, funeral.
Maya stood in front of the doors that led to the funeral. Maya couldn't believe this happened, it was all her fault. She thought back to last time she had her last moment with Lucas.
"Why can't you just listen to me!" Maya screamed at her boyfriend in pure anger. "Because you can't just keep you hands to your self!" Lucas hissed back at the blonde.
Maya and Lucas were at the Matthews Christmas Party, the place where the fight had started. Uncle Josh came in, and Maya began just taking to him in a friendly matter. Until Lucas, being the jeoulous boyfriend he is, got suspicious of the friendly talk. So here they are now, fighting over something stupid.
"Excuse me?!" Maya was shocked over Lucas's words. She never thought her boyfriend would say such a terrible thing to her. "You heard me!" Lucas screamed back at her, unaware of what he said hurt his girlfriend. Lucas had anger issues since middle school, that caused him to say things he really didn't mean.
"If I can't keep my hands to myself, then just leave!" Maya screamed back, tears smudging her black mascara. Lucas left without no warning, Maya unaware that would be her last moment with Lucas.
The memory brought tears to Maya's eyes. She blinked and blinked, wanting to be strong for Lucas. She still didn't know why Lucas would contemplate suicide, over a stupid fight. The memory getting the heartbreaking news rang through her mind.
Maya cried while driving to Lucas's house. She wanted to apologize, but it was too late for that. The sad blonde parked in front of Lucas's house, seeing the whole scene in front of her. Yellow tape circled around Lucas's house as Maya got out of the car. She pushed past the people, hoping nothing happened to Lucas.
There it was, two paramedics zipping up a body bag, Maya saw a glimpse of who it was.
Lucas.
The blonde broke down in front of everyone. They figured the crying blonde was an important person to the now dead body, so they let her have her breakdown. Maya cried and cried, when she stood up and raced toward the ambulance. "No! No! No! Stop, please! Lucas!" Riley Matthews came, Maya's best friend, also with a tear struck face. Riley's family had gotten the news.
The brunette bent down and hugged the broken blonde, both of them needing comfort.
Maya let one tear roll down her cheek, as she entered the building. She didn't want to see the black coffin, where it laid Lucas's dead body. She sat down next the Matthews family, the tears already rolling down their cheeks. And then the funeral finally began.
"We're here today to honor a great person. Lucas Friar." Riley choked back a sob, and also did Maya. Maya didn't want to give a speech, she couldn't without thinking of Lucas. "Lucas Friar was an amazing friend, a son that was the most amazing son, and a caring boyfriend." Maya choked back a sob that was ready to come out.
Maya stood and walked to the sad brunette, taking the microphone. Riley sat back down, not being able to continue her speech. "Hello everyone, my names Maya Hart. And Riley was right about Lucas being all those things." Maya took a big deep breath before beginning her speech.
"Lucas Friar, some may say he was an amazing friend, a good boy, a great son. But to me, he was the most loving cowboy I could ever met. We need to circle the ones who loved him most. Because we're just tiny specks." Riley smiled at the quote, through her tears."People say that when people die there not really gone as long as we keep them in our hearts, but they are really. But to remember Lucas Friar, we need to remember the good times, and remember them so much until there permanently there. The last moment I had with Lucas, was when we fought about something stupid. People do...suicide for a reason. Lucas's reason just wasn't clear enough."
By this time Maya was crying, in fact everyone was. Maya walked over Lucas's cold body, and took his cold hand into her warm one.
"I love you Ranger Rick, goodbye."
